Psalms 42-44 portray Israel embattled in a state of exile and defeat, yearning for God's presence. Psalm 44 is a cry for God to arise and deliver Israel out of exile through a new exodus, and Psalm 45 unveils the Bridegroom Messiah who will answer that cry. Psalm 45 invites us to partner in intercession for the opening of ears to listen, consider, and respond to the One whose beauty exceeds all the sons of men.
