You should also mention at the same period, the massacres of May 8, 1945, in Algeria which was under French colonization since 1830. A settler occupation made of dispossessions, punitive expeditions, massacres, displacements, destruction of 1/3 of its population, indigenous Code etc... Algeria gained its independence, this is an important precedent that must be constantly reminded and emphasized, and so will Palestine.

Somehow, with all due respect while naming the atrocities during, before and to date, Black history has been omitted. Here’s a reminder, an excerpt from the LOC regarding Black history’s tragic events during the 1948 period referenced here:
“African Americans in the United States faced many challenges from 1849 to 1950, including:
    Jim Crow laws
These laws, which were in place from the post-Civil War era until 1968, legalized racial segregation and severely restricted the rights of Black Americans. Black people were separated from white people in transportation, schools, public accommodations, prisons, and armed forces. They were also denied the right to vote, hold jobs, and get an education. Black people who defied Jim Crow laws often faced violence, arrest, fines, and jail sentences.”
The Google search: “What was the condition of the African American in the US period to 1950?”

1948 was also the first full year of India's independence from Britain, a very significant example of how non-violence could be used as a way to achieve a people's aspirations. I was only nine years old then, but that was old enough to realize that wars are awful and that this was a better way. But the following year, 1948, was when another people had a chance to try non-violence to settle a conflict, and instead chose violence, and brought upon itself the misery of seventy five years, three generations, of needless poverty.

It’s not the’Nakba’ i.e. ‘catastrophe’ in Arabic. In 1948, it was deliberate mass ethnic cleansing, genocide and societicide: 531 Palestinian villages deliberately destroyed. And then in 1967, more ethnic cleansing. It’s an ongoing demographic colonialist war by Jewish immigrant settler colonialism using many different methods. According to Craig Mukhaiber, the UN human rights lawyer, there was slow incremental genocide against the Gaza Strip before October 7th and now full-blown genocide. There’s an ongoing brutal colonialist and Apartheid demographic war in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. It has always been an ongoing brutal demographic war against the native people by Jewish immigrant colonialists

      1948 war started by Arabs
      They lost...
Nakba, Arab muslims ordered to leave war zone by Arab leaders ( having chosen their side) could not return. Those that refused to obey orders and stayed are the 20% Arab muslim Israelis of today.
How many wars have Israel started?
      How many? ZERO
When you start a war and lose, you can't play the victim.

Thank you for speaking up, for pointing to finger to your own government's role in the disaster of this particular conflict. I am sure in many other conflicts the US' involvement and interest has equally been dealt with in a Mafioso kind of way you have described. Actually, they are too numerous to list them all. Although the US certainly is not the only country that does her dealings this way in the world, but it is the most powerful (militarily speaking) one. But speaking up like this may give some hope that within the US such reflection one day may produce the US politicians that really are going to act on the tyranny of the powerful you so eloquently describe. Thank you

The United States citizens must learn to vote third party and choose wisely. I believe at this time there's only one may stop 🛑 the colonizers and stop the genocide which is ongoing right now!😢

Thanks to everyone who all are hosting this session. My question is when state of Israel was created at the same time why’s not Palestine state created and recognized by the then UN/ league of nations and world leaders! Now when the USA continues to vetoing against Palestine’s membership in the UN then how can anyone expect that the USA would respond to this situation to create a free Palestine. The more the USA stays away from the conflict, the better it is. People lost their belief in the USA that one day they could solve the problem. However we do believe that only younger generations can solve it. Free free Palestine. Thanks.

Benzion Mileikowsky the real name of Netanyahu. A polish national as most of the Israeli settlers who massacred the indigenous Palestinians ... all come from eastern European ancestry. So who's land is it the European settlers or the native Palestinians.. Wake up world.
