I make the circuit boards for the Pulsar LT. I have it currently installed on my 2019 5.3L Silverado. I have talked the engineers and made them aware of the emissions failure problem. Our engineers work very hard to insure that our products are top quality and that our customers are satisfied. I appreciate this channel and it's content. I hope I can be of some help.
Yes Mr Simmons I would like to know also I've already had the problem with lifters and push rods collapsing at about 7,000 MI so they replaced all 16 lifters after a bitched enough so yes please come back on this page and let us know if they can fix that issue with the pulsar I have a pedal commander on here right now and I started thinking about it and hopefully it will somewhat disable this dfm system but I'm seriously looking at getting a pulsar LT I will have to learn how to put it on and you know we'll have to take her off once a year for the vehicle inspection so I guess I got to do what I got to do
Unfortunately I live in the state where we have to have emission checks yearly I have a question what if I were to leave the Pulsar LT on and merely unplug the negative battery cable for say approximately 3 minutes would that not delete the programming of the Pulsar LT and would the truck go back to default mode and go off the original factory settings that way I could leave the Pulsar on then after the emissions test I could reprogram the Pulsar LT with without removing it from my truck??
@@waynec211 The problem is that if you pull your battery cable and try to get emissions done the truck will fail. It PCM has to log the trucks emissions over so many miles. If you get it tested it will say not ready. I tried this with my truck. I am not sure about deleting the programs from the Pulsar. I will ask the engineers and find out.
Yes I know I will have to drive it for 50 miles maybe 75 before it resets and it will pass emissions but just trying to get around having to take the Pulsar all the way off of my vehicle I was just hoping that it would default back to the factory settings and the pulsar would be taken offline until I went back in and reset the settings on the pulsar

I definitely use you as reference when it comes to modifications on my trail boss . Also I did see a hack to stop dfm and start stop by running in L9. It works for now until I can purchase the Pulsar. Thanks for the video’s.
You can manually turn off your afm, by putting your truck in L mode which is manual shift it up to 9th gear if you have a 10 speed trans, and then drive normally with full 8 cyl working and it will not cycle down cylinders while keeping it at 9th gear . Its a manual trick turning off your afm, all silverado's can do this but its important to set one gear less than your top gear for your motor.
L9 (manual mode in 9th gear) disables DFM. It was proven with a OBS scanning tool that DFM is inactive in that gear. If you go to 10th it starts it again. Quick fix although you do have to do it manually everytime. That’s a free way to disable it.

I have an update for everyone. I have been running my 2019 5.3L z71 LT with the Pulsar on it. I turned off the DFM disabler and ran the truck for about 100 miles. I didn't remove the Pulsar. Now the truck is showing I/M ready. This proves the the DFM disabler is what causes trucks to show not ready. You don't have to remove the Pulsar. Just turn the DFM on, (stock setting) and drive for about 100 miles and you should be good.
I take my Pulsar LT off each time before I have the truck serviced at the dealer, just in case. I think it can interfere with reading codes properly. When you put it back, you do not have to reset it, so it is not a big deal.

As a casual buyer , I traded my 2021 accord sport to Carvana for a 2021 Silverado rst because of Hondas issues and I liked the v8 power and unaware of this lifter problem till yesterday when I started getting the knock . Just wanted a reliable vehicle but now I’m stuck with GM,s silent thorn that got me unawares. After GM repairs all my lifters, I plan on getting the Pulsar after the warranty. I now can’t honestly trade it back to Carvana because of this defect, even w only 4500 miles, so I’m stuck with this unreliable but beautiful truck. BTW we lived in Kona 16 years then transferred to Denton , which looks like your neighborhood maybe Justin. Now in Florida with no vehicle inspection! Thanks for the information on your videos!
Pulsar does nothing to stop the lifters issue. The issue is with the design of the pushrods not with the programming of the DFM. Whether you have DFM enabled/disabled the pushrods can still get bent out of shape. It is honestly a “luck of the draw” situation. I have a 2021 Trail Boss, just passed 10k miles and have not had the issue. I also have been running with DFM enabled the entire time. Most say if you pass 10k without the issue then it is unlikely you will see it but I guess I’ll find out.
I have a 2014 Prius that I’m still not required to inspect in Missouri. Less than ten years old. Will have to inspect in two years tho! But definitely getting the pulsar for my trail boss. Thanks for video!
Off topic question, but i see different videos of people installing them, and there are different harness connector colors, does this matter. Ive seen 3 variation:black and white, white and white, and white and grey
I'm lucky that I bought a 21 1500 LT with the AFM disabled due to the chip shortage. It's like having a Pulsar without having one, which unfortunately means that part of my morning routine involves hitting the auto start/stop button to disable it every time.
Sup bro! Great video as always, I had the same one in my 19 Silverado and never had that issue with inspections, I did have one check engine light for not receiving proper ground to an injector but after speaking to superchip and my local dealership shop foreman which is a friend of mine he told me just to disconnect the pulsar for 20-30 min and reinstall, after doing that all went back to normal. I also think that whoever did your inspection kinda did you wrong 🤷🏻♂️, well you already took it off just get the inspection and put it back on. Hope your issue gets resolved! Lmk if you need help, I live in Laredo but I’m more than happy to bounce ideas back in forth
I have a 2016 F165. No I did not type that wrong. It's a F150 with a 2.7 ecoboost aka a 165 cuin twin turbo v6. I used HP Tuner to raise my top speed limiter from 104 mph to 120 mph. For some reason the stop/start only work about 3% of the time now.
Luckily not all Texas counties require exhaust to be inspected during the annual inspection. My county just checks that basics are working/in good order: lights, tires, brakes, has mirrors…
I manage a fleet of 1000 vehicles and we have the same inspection issue in AZ. It’s caused by the GPS devise we have in our vehicles. All Nissan, Toyotas passenger vehicles.

I have a 2022 Silverado trail boss with the 6.2 L in it and I’m running the pulsar chip and it runs fine never had an issue I put in taking borla exhaust on it and it does here to 60 in five seconds. No bullshit.
I removed my Pulsar LT to take to the dealer and the truck immediately developed an engine tick/knocking that wasn't there prior and I have a service parking brake and service engine warning that weren't there before I removed the unit. Ever hear of this before?
the " NOT READY " status on your emissions report simply means the system has not yet completed a self diagnostic yet. some of the checks require several miles of driving and/or under certain conditions, if you had disconnected the battery etc recently (losing power to the ECM) that would cause this scenario. It may not necessarily be your Pulsar. .

Hey there im in vegas too. Just got the pulsar for my husband for fathers day. I got the 200 dollar one just for dfm not the pulsar. Were you able to figure out what to do?
Did you do the software update for the Pulsar LT? They made a software update to make it more 'stealthy'. I didn't have any issues passing the Texas state inspection with it.
I was looking into getting that same system for my 19 GMC Sierra Denali w/6.2L until they wouldn't sell it to me as I live in southern CA. These units are "Not" CARB legal here and this might be the reason for it. Passing emissions laws here is nutz to say the very least so the CA smog police don't like us doing anything to our newer vehicles that might make them better, more powerful, get better mpg, etc. Yeah, kind of wish CA would let a lot of these little mods go as getting your engine to run right and the way you want is kind of important to most of us gear heads. Having power and a good sound from your vehicle make the right foot and ear holes happy.
I bought a 2021 trail boss without start stopping. Heated seats and steering wheel heated mirrors that was it for options bought it gently used with 39000 miles on it with no start stop the more options you have the more complicated it is keeping it simple is sometimes better to much technology doesn't always work.

?? I’m in Tx and they’ve never plugged anything into my ODB port for an inspection! Is this only a truck thing? Or maybe it’s the shop doing extras during the inspection?
Had my Pulsar LT fail on my 2020 GMC Sierra AT4 6.2 today. I was driving on 35 leaving San Marcos and my trucks check engine light turned on and popup came up saying Stability Control Not Available. Truck then went into safe mode with Engine reduced Power popup. Couldn't go over 40 mph. Pulled over and turned the truck off for 1 min then tried turning the truck on again with no luck, truck was dead with just the accessory lights working. I figured that issues could be the Pulsar because its the only mod i have on the truck other than a leveling kit. I unplugged the pulsar and boom the truck turned on and no check engine light. Pulsar had been on for a year and 4 months, roughly about 20K miles worth.
Next question I have a 6.2 L Chevy Silverado and I put a pedal commander on it now being that it changes the throttle position will it disable my dfm fuel management system or will it not or at what position or setting do I need to put the pill commander on sport or Super Sport at which setting would it or if it will turn off my dfm just curious
Can anyone tell me the upper speed limit of driving my 6.2L in L9 mode to disable the DFM? No Range Pulsar product is available for a 2023 Yukon, so going with the workaround but don't want to over-tax my engine when on a short stretch of highway.
I live in Texas and have never had them touch my OB2 sensor. The entire inspection is conducted outside of my truck. That’s weird that they did that to your truck.
I am a resident in Texas and have used numerous locations to do the inspection... never have they used the OBD2 port. Just a safety inspection/walk around.
I am in PA and have a 2012 with the Flowmaster Super 44 cat back duals. I have the DFM disabler. We have yearly inspections here. I wonder if I'm going to have to unplug my progammer... 😲
You don’t really have to take it off the truck you can just go to a different county where they only do safety inspections. I was an inspector for a year and told everyone that failed and couldn’t get it fix or what you have. To just go to a different county to get I done. It don’t matter where you go in Texas. As long as it’s a Texas inspection you can get it anywhere
So you haven’t had any issues with the truck while running the Pulsar LT? The only issue is your state inspection and the guidelines that you are supposed to abide by correct?
You might be able to disable AFM/DFM completely stock. I had a range disabler on my 2016 Silverado 5.3 and it failed emissions, saying emissions monitoring was not ready. After searching the web I discovered that if you put the truck in M5 it will not allow AFM to engage. It allowed emissions monitoring to work and I passed inspection. You might be able to put your truck in M8 or M9 and see if your truck does the same thing.

It's wild that this thing doesn't have some sort of bypass, either a hardware switch or software option.
Live in Texas and we doint do that shit in San Antonio. All I do is pull up for inspection, they do lights and horn and small crap and I'm done.
Silverado owner from Oahu here 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙 subscribed love the channel already
We have no inspections at all in Alabama so I’m good to go ! 🇺🇸🤘🏼
Salute , blessings. Sorry missing couple videos, been chasing warches on my Cummins dually.
Been with you from the beginning my brother proud of ya and how the the TH-cam family has grown and keep it up #bow ties
I just installed mine love it!!! Good thing here in Salem OR they don’t require me to pass any inspections!!!
Luckily not all Texas counties require exhaust to be inspected during the annual inspection. My county just checks that basics are working/in good order: lights, tires, brakes, has mirrors…
Florida is a no inspection state thankfully! I love it.
I kinda like the sound of that exhaust with DFM working, kinda diesel truck sounding.
I manage a fleet of 1000 vehicles and we have the same inspection issue in AZ. It’s caused by the GPS devise we have in our vehicles. All Nissan, Toyotas passenger vehicles.
Do you recommend a pulzar for my 2016 Chevy
Woo! Almost their. At the time I watched this, your at 96k subs! Can't wait! Still one of my favorite channels I watch.
Ps. Have you looked into a BullyDog GT tuner? I love mine. I've passed emissions every time with it on
@LONESTAR HAWAIIAN
are you still running the Pulsar LT today and is it a product you would still recommend? Other than the fuel mileage..... do you have any regrets installing it ?
It may not necessarily be your Pulsar.
.
Thanks for letting us know I don't live too far from you and I guess I will have to remove mine when I get my inspection done next year
In AFM if you drive on 5, 7, or 9 AFM doesn't activate..... not sure if driving on manual with DFM if that would keep cylinders from deactivating.
I appreciate the little update 🔥💪
Keep us up to date on your shop issues with your HOA. We bought 2 years ago and automatically eliminated homes with HOA's but I was in one in the past and it's navigable. You're also in a state where reasonable people are in greater supply
Help! Got a 2020 Silverado 1500 High Country and got the LasFit L.E.D.’s.Changed back-up bulbs and Tag bulbs, BUT previous owner changed connectors to CE8030F-1 and I can’t locate the bulbs under the hood to save my life.
The nice thing about removing it and reinstalling is that the lt retains all of the settings it had prior to removal.
I didnt know it retained all prior information because I was told by range tech that the system will reset once removed and reinstalled. Thanks for the tip
I was told the same exact thing by edge Products tech support. that it resets itself once it's unplugged. great thing about it I won't need the instructions to reprogram it.
Mine did when I removed it before taking it to the dealership. Put it back after 2 weeks and it was still set to the same settings.
@@HowtowithPaulHenderson mine retained all the settings I had. Disconnected for 2 weeks.
@@loganbowen6421 good to know. Taking my truck in at 40,000 miles and having a transmission oil change, I will have to disconnect it just in case they have to do any reprogramming of the transmission module.
Glad my 2022 TB 6.2l didn't come with the AFM or auto stop/ start. Only time I unhook my pulsar lt is to get it serviced at the dealership. We don't have those emissions test here in Ohio.
Can I just remove the negative terminal and let it reset for 30 minutes will I be good with just that ?
Has anyone or you experience a ESC and CEL coming on with the pulsar lt installed with a p0700 dtc I took it off to go to the dealership and it went right away I have not updated it yet or see if there is one seeing that I've only had it installed for about 3 weeks now. It's on a 2019 gmc sierra 1500 denali 5.3l
Does anyone know if the pulsar has stored memory? When you disconnect battery and reconnect do you need to reprogram?
I'm from Vegas and have to do a smog test every year. My pulsar lt made me fail the inspection and when I took it off and drove it 400 miles to reset the computer the it was still saying those error codes. This is my nightmare!
Wish they would of put that warning on the box
Hey there im in vegas too. Just got the pulsar for my husband for fathers day. I got the 200 dollar one just for dfm not the pulsar. Were you able to figure out what to do?
How is the Pulsar LT holding up ? Thinking of getting one for my 2024 5.3l Silverado
Did you do the software update for the Pulsar LT? They made a software update to make it more 'stealthy'. I didn't have any issues passing the Texas state inspection with it.
Have you had any hard clunking noises coming from your truck when slowing down ares is a 2019
Clunking, no. but the cylinders reactivate when slowing to a stop which might be it.
@@LonestarHawaiian it's a hard clunck it's in the shop today hopefully they can figure it out do you go to car shows to help your channel
Texas tip - just find that mechanic that’ll “pass” you for 50 bucks 😅
They only check emissions in major cities in Texas. Not in rural areas or small cities like Amarillo. It's not required
Have you had any fuel economy loss after installing the pulser LT like extreme loss?
I bought a 2021 trail boss without start stopping. Heated seats and steering wheel heated mirrors that was it for options bought it gently used with 39000 miles on it with no start stop the more options you have the more complicated it is keeping it simple is sometimes better to much technology doesn't always work.
same here. got a 21 trail boss 5.3 made in july of 2021 and it does not have Auto Start/Stop from the chip shortage. Glad I didn't have it from the get go.
I'm glad I live in San Antonio (Bexar county) because they don't do emissions testing here.
?? I’m in Tx and they’ve never plugged anything into my ODB port for an inspection!
Is this only a truck thing? Or maybe it’s the shop doing extras during the inspection?
Great vids thanks for going into detail about the trucks. Appreciated.
I need help waking up my 2009 Sierra. I put slightly larger tires and it now struggles.
Hey, just curious if anybody had any issues passing NY State Inspection with the Pulsar LT? Thanks in advance.
Where can I find a pulsar for 2024 LT Silverado 1500?
I live in Texas and have never had them touch my OB2 sensor. The entire inspection is conducted outside of my truck. That’s weird that they did that to your truck.
I have a 2021 Silverado 4 cyl 2.7L
Do you know if it has DFM? I know it as Auto-Start for sure.
I am a resident in Texas and have used numerous locations to do the inspection... never have they used the OBD2 port. Just a safety inspection/walk around.
I just bought a pulsar. Came here for install guide. Now I’m not sure if I should put it on 😢
So he has the afe muffler delete to borla exhaust?
I am in PA and have a 2012 with the Flowmaster Super 44 cat back duals. I have the DFM disabler. We have yearly inspections here. I wonder if I'm going to have to unplug my progammer... 😲
Makes me love my old cat eye even more.
Thanks for the heads up! 🤙🏼
I've never had my truck hooked up to a obd2 anything for a inspection in Texas.
Does los Angeles CA have one of those annual inspections? Cause ive never had to do anything like that before.
I would like to know if this device removes the speed limit
I have a range afm disabler on my truck, no problems, but I live in Florida so we have no vehicle inspections or smog tests.
So you haven’t had any issues with the truck while running the Pulsar LT? The only issue is your state inspection and the guidelines that you are supposed to abide by correct?
Do you anything about this one? Range Active/Dynamic Fuel
Management Disabler;
Until you need 6th gear. You can easily disable it with hptuners and pass an inspection, as well as turn off all the CEL for emissions BS.
@@moneymattersmastery55897 shifting to M5 method is a quick and easy method for those who already have an AFM disabler. No need for 6th gear when driving to the inspection station lol.
Has your range disabler caused your truck to have any problems other than the emissions? How long have you had the range disabler?
@@arnoldmartinez5742i have one and I have not had any issues other than it doesn’t always work for me. I have an exhaust so I can hear it and see it on my rpm needle. Removing it after shutting the truck off when I stop for gas or whatever and re-inserting seems to help but that gets old very quick.
Should have got a deoblo tuner. Has way more options and it doesn't have to stay plugged in.
Did u get the autostop eliminator? Amazon has it for like $20 takes like 5 seconds to install
When reinstalled, do you have to reprogram? On just plug in the Pulsar and go?
I saw Blue Bell! Howdy from Tejas!
