sad to say, the world has lost a very congenial 'man of the world' - one of the most wonderful musicians I've had the honor to listen to ... 'albatross' flew with me through my life and became the melody I could dedicate to my son after he died in a tragic accident ... RIP brother
One of a few truly gifted bluesmen . . . his emotional playing has always brought me goosebumps and yes . . the world is a little colder tonight. Bless your soul ! ! !
Peter Green was one of the best British guitar players in blues-rock alongside Jimmy Page, Rory Gallagher, Eric Clapton, Alvin Lee, Mick Taylor, Gary Moore, much respect to all of them.....

I am just glad that Peter seemed to be doing fairly well before he passed. All the interviews I ever saw with him, he seemed very kind, and he had a gentle, giving spirit. R.I.P.
Peter Green is a happy man these days and well looked after by family. The rest doesn't matter. His legacy is affirmed regardless of his capabilities now. Absolutely brilliant is what he was in his prime. Loved by John Lennon all the way down to me and everyone in between
I've nothing but total respect for Peter Green . I've seen him many times live - the last time with the great BB King (R.I.P). I hate to read some negative comments. Mr Green has been to hell and come back and deserves respect !
What a tune what a man !!!!!!!!!!! This and Albatros make my heart blead ..Two tunes never ever to leave the heart if you have one that is ???????????????
R.I.P PETR GREEN THE GREATEST BRITISH BLUES GUITARIST EVER. We didn’t think seven months after your excellent tribute concert in the London Palladium that I was blessed to have attended that you would be leaving us god bless you Peter rest well.

Blues music lost one of the all time greats today. As BB King said, “He was the only guitarist who ever gave me the cold sweats”. No better accolade can be given to his mastery and legacy.
Better late than never, I'm 76 and seen many of the late 50's 60's 70's and some of the early 80's go enjoy your music it won't be around for ever. PLAY IT LOUD, MAN.
Don't give a shit about the negative comments on here, thought it was wonderful. Have to thank PG for some of the songs that have carried me through my life including this song. Need your love so bad still gets me to this day. My health isn't good at the moment but music lifts me, emotionally sometimes, but it helps me through the shit. Its all relative so be nice. We should appreciate all the good things and music is one of them. Don't forget non of us get out of here alive folks.
Thank you! I am now grieving for you being gone. Took a while lol. But your guitar is immortal now. I can still sing your songs too. You were a beautiful talented person, who got fame, but didnt want it. You were unique, nobody compares in my eyes.
I had seen The Splinter group so many times . Got to talk to the band many times . Saw Peter often . My friend Greta knew them better than me . Through that I got to know them. We all have to go sometimes . Peter was a haunted soul . He isnt anymore. We lost a good one.
I could tell you about my life And keep you amused I'm sure About all the times I've cried And how I don't want to be sad anymore And how I wish I was in love Thank You Mr.Green
Ben Tollesdon: Why is that class? Green wrote it!! Thats more like exploitation than class, surely? The audience had Paid to see Peter play that solo...Not Watson thanks. Their tickets were priced at Peter Green rates...not Watson rates. Without Green Watson would be playing covers in your local bar! He wouldn't have a career without Green.
Between 1959 and 1969 we had the most exciting and brilliant music the world has seen - Elvis, Buddy, Chuck , Little Richards and all the other great rock and rollers , then in the 60s The Stones, The Beatles, The Who, Fleetwood Mac, Dylan, etc etc. Fast forward 50 years and what have we got ..Justin Beaver and an assortment of boy bands. How I'd love to have been born in the 40s
between 1965 and 1980 saw the explosion of FUSION of Classic Rock, Jazz and Blues. The amplifiers and instruments and talent we're an exponential function of creativity UN matched. 400 years from now when they study this time, TWO artists/bands will stand out.......Frank Zappa........ and .....the Beatles.
Peter is in a better. world. with his guitar he’s looking down on us. and thinking ‘oh. well’. we might as well. ramble on. with the guitar. in my hand and. lift up peoples. spirits god bless peter. green.
Peter Green still has the genius vibrato. Excellent guitarist . . Oh well is still my favourite song of his. Awesome. Albatross still gives me goosebumps.
RIP mate. I saw your first 'Splinter'comeback gig at the blues festival in Buckinghamshire many years ago. Cozy was on drums, so say hello to him when you see him.
Peter Green was amazing for sure .... but let us not forget Nigel Watson also a brilliant musician in his own right and they were great friends. Nigel helped him passively for a long time.
I saw him four times in the splinter group, and was lucky enough to speak to him, there were times he was absolutely brilliant and flashes of his younger self but most he was quite restrained and Nigel Watson did the bulk of the lead playing. He seemed happier playing the harmonica and playing rhythm guitar. But it was great seeing him play live again.
This is such a soul-stirring rendition of this song. There is something so much more melodic about British rock guitarists... They seem to be devoid of the ego and the "look at me" attitude that seems to accompany so many Yanks. When I hear this, I am also hearing Tim Renwick, Al Stewart's session man for the bulk of his years, and as live guitarist for Pink Floyd on tour, both Waters and Gilmour's.

First time I heard a Peter Green track was by total accident. Found a cassette next to a fireplace in Peckforten Castle which was being used by "Treasure Trap" a Live Role Playing Adventure site, and Me and my fellow dungeoneers listened to it in my Cortina Mk 2's cassette player on the way home and I flippin loved it - not sure if it had quite the same effect on my PUNK friends but... Hey... each to their own!
Pete has given us some of the most beautiful instumental guitar, and i still recall the first time i heard Albatross as a schoolboy in the late sixties. Absolutely stunning, thanks Peter for all your music !. So pleased when Peter and The Splinter Group formed to give us new renderings of the old favourites, Peter and the music have both been resurrected for a new generation to enjoy!,
Peter Green is an amazing human being! I would pay a lot of money for the chance to see him play. Thank you Nigel Watson for bringing him back. I am just so moved by this beautiful talented man.
