    Peter Green was my hero when I took up guitar in 1969 I'm so proud that even as a wee boy I knew class when I heard it, played in bands for 40 years and all thanks to the great man inspiring me, RIP Peter you where the greatest.

    Peter was, is and will be the best ever. His soft broken voice is here still beautiful and true, so tragic and real... and his playing... he is not what he was once, sure, but he will be for me the biggest eglish bluesman ever

    Peter Green is the guy playing the sea foam green fender stratocaster wearing the red wool cap. If you haven't listen to the early Fleetwood Mac when they were a British blues band before the girls(Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie & Lindsey Buckingham) you are missing out on something very special my friends

    • @paulm1162
      @paulm1162 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Christine McVie was married to john hence the Mac in fleetwood so not quite sure about that, still the best selling/popular album was and is dreams.
      I prefer the other playing even when doing albatross he plays all the crucial bits not peter green, just my opinion

      peter greens fleetwood mac were my favourite blues band, at the time (apart from john mayalls bluesbreakers) they were were only band at the time that played REAL blues, im 70 years old now and my musical tastes have never changed, i no longer play in bands but still keep my hand in playing my gibson in my conservatory, (to the dissatisfaction of my wife lol)

      @@paulm1162 It was named Mac to entice John to leave the Mayall and the Bluesbreakers (a previous band). His wife later played with them FM (after they were already named Fleetwood Mac).

    I saw the Peter Green Splinter Group in Basidon in 1996. I knew it wasn't going to be the same as the 60's but this Nigel bloke helped PG out brilliantly. We met the whole band at the bar after. I asked Green if he knew any music theory, and he said 'I'm just learning that now'. Cozy Powell was also on drums. One of the best gigs I've ever been to, and I've been to thousands.

    Looking at a number of comments here, it was actually Nigel Watson performing the lead guitar and vocals with Peter playing mainly rhythm guitar with minimal vocals. Nevertheless, the spirit of PG's '60's version was there for all to hear/see and what an excellent version it was.

      +simba young He did not, however, write this song. It's Little Wille John. But I love me some Peter Green. What's with the haters, anyway? Have you heard what's left of Brian Wilson FFS?

      Was actually Little Willie's brother Mertis Jr who wrote it - Willie was just the first to record it. Anyway, that's just an aside to set the record straight. The reason I'm commenting at all is just to let the (at this point in time) 40 "dislikers" know that they are the real losers here. Pete Green may have fallen, but he has at least been up there in a position to fall from. I'd wager not a single one of these guys (or gals) has as much feeling in their whole body, as Pete still has in the hairs up his left nostril. Don't ever get even weaker than you are, guys, cos the wolves will be waiting to get you.

    So good to see PG still performing and sounding fine despite the hard road he has walked. I used to chat to him occasionally when I lived in Richmond back in the early 80's, and he was a gentle soul. The kids would call him Wolfman and chuck stones at him but he just shrugged it off with a sad smile. His dreams of a better world never quite came to fruition but he still lives in hope, a lesson to us all.He's had the blues alright...

The same thing happened for Johnny Winter, several people did not like him anymore because he was older and weaker. That is not correct, we have to respect these people in the same way as we did when the where young and vital. Did n,t we all wanted to be like them in gloriedays, werent we jalous because we could not what they could??
