Cs 1.6 has random spread of the guns
Overall 1.6 for me. In terms of pure competition you'd probably pick GO but 1.6 had so much more to offer in terms of custom gamemodes, custom maps, there was much less emphasis on how good you were and more on just having fun.
the community of aspect was much stronger in 1.6 for sure. I love that CSGO added mm, but seems like that pretty much took over the focus of the game

1.6 of course, i grew up on this game, it was such a great time when you go home after school and u just dominate everyone in dm server or kz

The non steam version has a lot more… I think over all there are 30-45k player daily!!!

I'm Filipino. We still have 1.6 LAN tournaments with prize pools up to $1000. There was a $5000 cup but that was not competetive, those were the 1.6 streamers. Imagine, 1.6 still has streamers. wild.

Real Filipinos play Counter Strike v1.3. Those were the days back in 2000s.
This is great to watch. I was 18 in 2002 when I first started CS 1.5 and then 1.6 launched when I was 19. I spent hours at the internet cafe playing with friends and it's such a golden era and a memorable time in my life. I get hardcore nostalgia watching this in 2023!

You turn 40 in this years back in 2002 i was 5 and cs 1.0 is my first fps game in my life i remember i can played cs 1.0 with bot all day and play with my friend such an good memories nostalgia in my life
1.6 has a really comfy vibe. Sometimes is fun to play really hard in CSGO but sometimes you wanna run around and shoot in some 800 polygon maps.
Takes me back to when gaming was super social!! I remember 1 kid installing this on the PC's at school in winter 2003, after the bell would ring on a cold English winter we would all run to the I.T room were 20 pc's were waiting first dibs to play LAN.
All picking sides, i was lucky enough that have the net on 750kbs at that time playing unreal 2003 but my set up was 800 res so changing res to 800 frpm 1024 your team covering your screen if you was the last alive.
Openely shouting if you was alive in a 1v1 "i challenge you to a duel and throwing your guns away and having a knife fight" man good days.

Pretty cool seeing GO players try out the origin game. 1.6 is a masterpiece to me. I grew up with it and truly love it especially the custom modding scene.

I was 14 years old when I started playing this in 2000. I played suchba ridiculous amount of hours playing. Sometimes I would play like 14 hours a day. My first true video game obsession!

1.6 is great the amount of community maps that are still active is insane. Going back to hit scan FPS feels crazy too
Glad you made a video covering this game. This was the first Counter Strike game I ever got to play. I got CSGO the day after and I've been a fan of the franchise ever since.
Condition Zero can definitely count. It wasn't as popular as other installments, but it was its own game. Anyway, good video.
It's literally just 1.6 with new textures, it's the same game otherwise.
@@blib3786 There were some other changes. Nothing major, I think, but it is technically its own game.
CS 1.6 has a few differences from CS:GO; 1/ The time for weapons to recover accuracy is higher, so you have to tap slower or add more time between your bursts. 2/ Weapons have multiple recoil patterns, so spraying isn't as consistent as in CS:GO, tap firing/bursts are used more often 3/ As you saw, the flashes last ages; but also, nades can go through 1 pixel gaps 4/ Crouching works a bit differently, instead of going down, you kinda pull your legs up which allows a movement technique known as "crouch hopping" which allows you to step up on obstacles without jumping, and IIRC gain some speed 5/ the wallbangs... there are lots of lineups you can learn on the maps which wallbang common spots that someone will be sitting. Good for taking B on dust 2, for example.

actually, they introduced a randomization in CSS and in CSGO, which adds a random factor into the pattern. This means, even if you have a two times the same spray patter in CS:GO, the bullets will still miss match a little.
In CS1.6 this is differnet. You have maybe different pattern. But the pattern always are exactly the same.
I prefer CSS/CS:GO way
The dopamine and all the other mines that I got from the first time I played this game over 20 years ago was so unreal, I've never felt that ever since.

Playing cs 1.6 is like riding a bicycle. It just stands there in the hallway and whenever you feel like wanting to ride it. You grab and ride it for some time and put it back when you are done. Thats at least how I play the game. For example I am on steam for more than 8 years and I played cs 1.6 for 1000 hrs not regularly but time to time. I sometimes just install ot to try different combinations of mods and skins to customize/personilize my cs 1.6. 😎 like modifing your own bicycle.
CS 1.6 holds such a special place in my heart. I used to play every day at my local LAN center Dragon Core.

Sometimes i enter both 1.6 and Source and it's crazy how good it still feels and ppl still playing it too, impressive!! Sadly some other great games from Valve like Day of Defeat and Deathmatch are pretty dead, which is a shame.
Day of Defeat was such a good game, I used to play it a lot and the capturing flag mechanics was really cool.

i started playing in beta 5, we used to play frontline forces too, it was great mod too.
gun sounds are on point in this game. Spraying with AK sounds so clean and raw
MP5 was such a bargain back in the day. Loved its action for burst head shots. CS:GO it's never felt the same.

i had my i5-750 overclocked to 3.8 and ram overlocked and play 1.6 like a charm, listening doja cat just good memories. to top off playing custom maps
1.6 is literally the only counter-strike game that can run on my laptop alongside with CS Source.
My laptop runs source and 1.6 well but crashes with csgo and lags horribly in cs2 (5fps)
I miss DoD so much, I know it wasn’t huge but the amount over time I sunk into that game like 12 years ago was wild

I only wish someone to fix the viewmodel inconsistencies. LIke the weapons being all flipped due to the animator being left handed, and also the M4A1 pulling the wrong thing when being drawn and reloaded.

cs1.6 brings back so many good memories.
I played a similar game on android and it occurred to me to practice using one finger at a time. One finger touch screen (left or right at any one time but not both at the same time). This may be the way to improve, in real life, by getting really pissed-off, and learn how to undo-redo with clarity.

Just do it… I played years back than and Installed 1.6 a year ago practicing every day aim maps and normal maps agains expert bots… i am 38 now! My aim went nuts with all the memories my hand had back than! 😃

This game and Gta SA will outlive the generations, cs 1.6 has huge fan base still in parts of the globe such as Eastern Europe,South America
1.6 stayed amazing all this time and still do because of the possibilities. There are lots of mods. Like zombie plague, zombie escape, surf, paintball, jail break, base builder, furien , classic, ffa , deathmatch...., and each server does the mod their way so it's not boring. You can play lots of mods and never get bored. And you have lots of servers that do mods different. Just the zp alone has lots of versions. 4.3, 5.0.8, 6.2 , outstanding and more. Each version has lots of differences and perks . Like for example. I can take 5.0.8 and make tons of zombie mods that don't look the same. It's the best game for me.

I first played CS in 0.8 beta
CS was my first FPS after playing Duke3D on PC. Hostage jumping on CS_backalley...de_docks... The custom maps were what really made the earlier game though. cs_mountainhamlet, and blahhhh_s...not to mention the rats and gjjoe maps. Browsing csbanana for all kinds of custom models sounds and sprites...I don't know if any of this carried over to GO or not, as I lost interest...if I remember correctly, Militia seemed to disappear and that was it for me. Then they ditched the Steam IDs, and my 5 digit status was lost forever :(
DoD Source was so much fun as well...I played the shit out of Avalanche; had my tactics and timed grenade throws down to a science...shooting the grenade from my rifle and catching it so I could throw it was so great. Priming my grenade at the top of the church and jumping down on Allies trying to cap the fountain and suicide bombing them was so much fun. Not to mention the classic "kill-bind" if you found yourself in a bad position and wanted to just take yourself out to avoid giving the enemy the satisfaction. "Whisky Tango Foxtrot" was always a good addition to any match.

CS 1.5 is the first CS, it was a half life mod. This was in 2001 I believe.
1.0 was the first. the half life edition, blue box (still got one). Later on the 1.3 upgrade came. After that the 1.5 you are speaking of. Then the legendary 1.6 wich still is the best game to this day!
