- I make and blind taste test three Long Island Iced Teas. One with cheap, bottom shelf liquors, one with value liquors, and one with expensive top shelf liquors. Which will be the best?
Long Island Iced Tea
1 part light rum
1 part vodka
1 part London dry gin
1 part tequila
1 part triple sec
1 part lemon juice
1 part lime juice
1 part sugar syrup

I like this channel. Just a normal dude keeping it real lol sips the over pour lol
When I'm going to be drinking Long Island Iced Tea it's going to be more than one and I will usually have them over a couple of days. So, I mix a cup to a cup and a half of the rum, gin, tequila, and vodka together and put that mix into an old liquor bottle that is labelled. Simplifies the pouring a lot.
I like that idea a lot. Do you add the lemon and or lime juice at drinking time or skip it?
Thanks for this video. I can't tell if you're a little nervous, or can't find the right words in the beginning, but at the end, I can tell the alcohol was hitting lol.
Hi Tony. Great video as always.
I should have expected the value drink to taste best because of the Beefeater gin and the Espolon tequila, which are my 2 go-to brands. I don't regularly make Long Island iced teas but, a while back, someone suggested I try it with Diet Pepsi instead of full sugar Coke, and I have to say it tastes better with Diet Pepsi to me. For vodka I typically use Tito' s Handmade. It tastes similar to Skyy but I think Tito's is slightly less expensive.
Often I prefer the less sweet diet sodas. But the artificial sweeteners always taste bad. I wish they would just release half sugar versions.
@@DrinkingWithTony I hear ya on the artificial sweetener taste, but it kind of works in a Long Island iced tea. I don't know why.
@@DrinkingWithTony if you can find it try the fever tree refreshingly light cola. it's essentially what you wanted, a low sugar cola without any artificial sweeteners
Top shelf booze works best when the flavors have room to shine. Long island iced tea might not be the right place for it.
I think you should do a gin test with your mom. And maybe some of her friends! 🙂
Are you a fan of gin?
yes!@@DrinkingWithTony
you bet! Does that make me a psychopath? lol Here's a bad gin for you to tr- from Panama- Caballito. Pure rot gut!
