I see a lot of new cars on the road and always wandered how they could afford them. Then I decided to buy a new car, after saving a decade, negotiating with every car dealer in us, borrowing money due to increased prices, wanting 2800 off, settling for 2000 off, fly 1000 miles to get a deal, staying in hotel on the way back, settling for a car with 1000 miles, filling out the paperwork myself, I finally have a base model new car on SS income. I am very happy!!!
How can we put a Hyundai under reliable? Ford’s has fine solid models like the fusion. Don’t forget 2015 and up Mazda which have low purchase price and some are made in Japan
Am i missing something? The car cant be over 12 years old and has to be under 130k for Turo. Why are you showing 2011's and cars with 136k miles? Is there a loophole i should know about?
My wife uses her 2015 yaris for grocery deliveries. Lotsa idling while running the heater or a/c, lotsa start it up then shut it down, lotsa city driving. Just lotsa abuse. The thing runs like new. We just change the oil at 3000 miles instead of 5000.
Who the hell can afford at +$10k, car with questionable reliability, at 10%+ interest rate?!? And regarding Facebook market place, look at all the dealerships, questionable car, or simply questionable listing
I'm assuming the years and milage Turo allows are different in requirements by state? In GA to list on Turo the car max is 12 years old and 130,000 miles. So the cars you are mentioning are not an option.
No the years and mileage requirements are the same if you are operating within the United States. She was not suggesting the cars she's listing will all be eligible for Turo. She was simply stating if you know where to look and are patient you can find vehicles in the price ranges she was discussing.
I came to ask why she was recommending cars that are beyond turos 12y/130k limits but realized she is just talking about cars, not specifically for Turo fleets.
The prices of used cars have gone up dramatically. Depending on area prices range up and down. Still can find cars out there but prices have gone up. Below 5 k is tough in my area for a good running car.
I actually just bought a luxurious and spacious 2008 Lincoln TownCar for $1500! I just put the listing as a cheap 2012 Ford Focus hatchback on Turo(the TownCar doesn't qualify as a classic, yet). I explain to the guests my car(the listed Ford Focus) is out in the shop for repairs and that they can use my TownCar instead. I then explain to them the feats of the T.C. vs the Focus and nearly every guest is more satisfied with the T.C. anyway. So essentially, I make great money on a dirt cheap nice car. But the protection plan/liability insurances are voided in this case, so I plan to get rid if this car pronto! I'm just hosting it now because my car was totalled and the only other Turo eligible vehicles near me are $6K+ in higher mileage(& not as nice as the T.C.). 🚗 💵
Why does she recommend 2008/2010/2011? I thought cars had to be 12 years old at most, I wanna start doing Turo can someone help me with this question? Thanks
I've driven Honda's for over 25 years, and I cannot overstated how much you should avoid a high mileage used odyssey. as much as I actually love the chassis, the transmission is not good for over 150k miles, do some go over that, yes but if you need it to work reliability for 5+ years, a bunch of those years are on borrowed time. the engine will likely be fine, but the VCM, is a potential headache. frankly Aubrey does a really good job breaking down the legwork needed.
people can definitely find cars in each of these price categories, but between needed a car to reflect a lifestyle and ego coupled with poor intelligence/willingness to learn, most people can't be bothered to learn. the vast majority of commuter vehicles built after 2005 is fine for a good amount of miles, especially outside the rust belt.
Got my 2008 sienna w/212k in 2020 for $4200, still going strong with 270k today 💪

Thank you so so much for this video! It's extremely helpful and I appreciate the thorough breakdown ❤

Some can get approved through Turo support as a Vintage Classic vehicle
Some of these cars are for personal use or Private Rentals or Car Flipping and not Turo. 🚫
Hello! really enjoying your content. Why are you not recommending Toyota Prius or vehicles that are Hybrid? Thanks
Would I be able to find a Honda accord 2013 for $7000?
A great video idea would be what cars would you buy if you had 20k, 50k, or 100k to invest into your fleet.
I thought you couldn’t use a car older than 13 years and over 130k miles. Am I wrong?
Foreseeing the price of vehicles in the next 2 years will help avoid another round of negative equity.

So your committing fraud?
I just don't feel it's me unless I'm buying the Space Shuttle Atlantis on 4 wheels tho!...with a Space Shuttle Atlantis price to go with that!
What watch are you wearing?

Don’t cars need to be 2012 or newer, or am I missing one of the most basic turo rules??
Yeah this is a video for buying cars and not specifically for Turo..
Do you think buying a Chevy traverse or a Buick enclave or Mazda cx 9 (6k-8k$ budget) for Turo is a good idea and do they rent well on Turo ?
Don't forget about the Honda odyssey mini van... Very reliable

I'd watch out for the 2015 - 2019 Hyundai's with the 2.0L theta engine. Lots of risk if they're over 100k miles.
Not all Hyundais have the issues with that year/engine, but on the ones that do 100% be careful!
Omg anyone who peddles a dodge mini has no idea
I wouldn't have thought a group of Toyota Yarises would be YARI. 😂 Also, why so heavy on the Sienna/minivans?
Why didn't you talk about trucks at all in these segments? Or is a different video with this topic for trucks coming?
Different video
@@AubreyJanik love your content ! I saved up 30k and am trying to get a decently used Tundra. It it has not been going so well.
The truck market is general is tough! But they are slowly but surely going down!
@@AubreyJanik yeah , people don't trade in Tundras that often either!!

Not sure why you included car listings with over 130k miles. I would think that would be confusing to someone looking at becoming a new Turo host.
This isnt a Turo video, this is just buying cars in general which is a topic I cover very frequently
Then they should read the TOS before hosting cars 🙄
@@AubreyJanik gotcha

Did you just not shit on the Yaris in a best / worst video ?!
