To get around the down payment issue I filter out the low end prices. What annoys me about Facebook is the lack of a title filter. Most cars in the under $10k price range have rebuilt titles. Craigslist is able to filter out rebuilt and salvage titles. 😊
This is definetly one pf your best videos so far! You should do one where you record yourself looking for deals online and showing how you conversate with the seller🙂
Cars in the United States are way cheaper than in Canada. Even when their used 2nd or 3rd hand. Isn't there a limit in what year car you can buy and use on turo?
Hi Aubrey Thank you for great content. I’m just about to list my first car in Melbourne Australia. I’m following your model even though cars are more expensive here. Just wondering why you’re buying 12 year old cars given Turo’s 12 year age limit?
When you say you pay in cash do you mean literally cash, not check or money order or Zelle or other? If so, how do you make sure there is a paper trail of the transaction to protect yourself?
If you don't have a person that is versed on car value/car maintenance to come on the test drive. What would you recommend? Can you ask the dealer to have the car certified at pepboys and/or take the car there during the test drive?
I have an old car, but I know that it will need a new timing belt, tune up in 10K miles, and new tires and brakes. I know I cannot get the cost of fixing the car back if I have it worked on, but it also feels like a sin to drive my new Lexus IS 350 on the lousy streets of Chicago. I cannot believe some people are asking over $5000 for a 2003 Toyota Solara with over 230K miles on it. I cannot blame someone for wanting to get rid of a Ford Focus.
I like your content and have found many of your videos helpful and informative. This one however is rubbing me wrong. It is one thing to negotiate a great deal in good faith with a willing seller. It’s quite another to advocate seeking out folks who are either in a bad financial situation, or do not fully understand the value of what they are trying to sell and take advantage of them. I am not advocating that we all hold hands and kumbaya, this is a business after all. But I believe that this exploitative mindset is toxic and should not be actively promoted in any business setting, but especially not a peer to peer sharing platform.
hey Aubrey! great video! I appreciate the info. Question - why would I ask form the VIN number exactly? (I recently was on FB marketplace and was interested in a car and I asked the guy if it had a clean title and to plz send me the VIN but I did it bc you mentioned it), not really knowing why I was asking for the VIN lol. Im sorry in advance to all the car guys/girls out there. what would be my next step with the VIN info?
I have purchased at least 10. It takes research and basic safety rules to do this without harm. Both financially and physically. I have never had an issue.
I just started up here in Toronto and I was thinking of another car for next year but I don't think I want to go very cheap cars and a very low rates so I will have to go through financing unfortunately..
Rates between economical and low to mid level luxury cars do not currently have a wide enough gap to justify the price of non economical cars, in my opinion.
@@onyshiaharris5449 I wasn't referring to luxury cars.. I was thinking around 25k CAD, if the car is decent it should fetch 100+ in summers.. My 2015 MDX that I got for just over 26k (including registration and insurance) and listed for a month and half has returned me 2500+ and have bookings for a few hundred more..
The "hard line" approach doesn't take into account the largest cost of call .. your time. Get a dealer license and just go to Manheim once a month and use your time elsewhere.
No im not a dealer, dont have dealer license, and i do my car shopping online only and i purchase 15-30 vehicles a year, roughtly 3 hours a week. buying from dealers only@@republicandan
FB has randomly removed the mileage filter for me 🙄 also all of the dealers listing down payments as the price are super annoying

Too many Salvage Title vehicles on FB marketplace.
Thank you Aburey! Learning a lot from you!
Thanks for sharing!
Great video! Nice job!
Thank you for the refresher 👍🏻
Marketplace needs to add a line item to input your VIN. It would cut down on all the rudimentary questions like engine, transmission, etc.
💯 it takes tons of research and details.

Isn't there a limit in what year car you can buy and use on turo?
Great video, why are you still buying 2011 cars ?
Thanks for this video. What do you use to check out the vin.
Texas, that explains a lot
Hi Aubrey

Exactly
Yup that what I’m wondering all your videos are about 12 year old cars but Turo doesn’t allow this????…..
When you say you pay in cash do you mean literally cash, not check or money order or Zelle or other? If so, how do you make sure there is a paper trail of the transaction to protect yourself?

What payment method do you use to buy cars from private owners? Cashiers check? Personal Check?
I was wondering if you purchased extended warranty for your used cars?

They asking for an arm and a leg
Nice Video. Is there a way to filter out REBUILT cars on fb marketplace? As they would not qualify for Turo
Is it safe to buy a car through FB?
Do you do any personal consultations for Turo?
250 off for tires. If they already need to be replaced 250 isn't much of a deal. Tires are expensive.
A lot of horse keep bad reviews on Nissan, Kia, Hyundai, regarding to engine, reliability, and maintenance. What do you think?
I need FB to require VIN numbers in the post.
there is alot of scammers on marketplace, also do you purchase from a private seller or a small dealer who sells multiple other cars?
what do you do if the seller does not have the title because they owe to a bank?
Instead of having several low cost rentals, more time to manage and maintain, why not few cars that are higher value with higher rent?

Type of person I'm never selling a car too lol
What is the best resource to determine current market value?
I thought only 2012 and above for the cars?
I come for Aubrey’s rock star hand movement to animate the words she speaks
This is the same person whose boyfriend tried convincing her a 1k monthly payment is a good financial decision.
You don't get the car checked out by a mechanic before purchasing?
They talk a lot about how much of the work they do their self so they are knowledgeable enough to do the inspections.
Buying cars off of Facebook marketplace for cash is a good way to get robbed or worse.
I have purchased at least 10. It takes research and basic safety rules to do this without harm. Both financially and physically.
I have never had an issue.
I don't change my customers over MRSP. I work for a Toyota dealership and other than a Corolla GR I don't change anything over MRSP.
It sounds like you advocate taking advantage of certain groups of people
I’m confused. I’m aware how Hosts with longevity have 2011 cars listed, but how would you add a 2011 vehicle today Aubrey?

Not true I buy below market deals from dealer all the time

like small dealers?
big dealer@@subreezy
You can list a 2011 in turo ?
Yes. The car can be no more than 12 years old, fewer than 130,000 miles, and with a clean title (not branded or salvage).
