Everytime I think of not getting the grandmother/matriarch, I look at this video and save up a little more :) Thanks a lot for this cover, I have been consistently listening it for over a year now
@@judethree4405 Not sure what weird effect pedals you usually plug your guitars in but sounds like some funky stuff.. But I think both of you are just looking to it from a different perspective :) Obviously it sounds like a Joy Division song (since it is a cover of a Joy Division song), but I do get the New Order associations (Moog synth, programmed drum patterns..).
I had to listen to this TWICE. This is an amazing cover. It reminded me of what my teen years of the 80s was like. Even down to the VHS tape like video you made. PERFECT ! You sir have real talent. Thank you !
Sunday night, happened across this, loved it! Did my own version of Shadowplay years ago, may load it for a laugh, not a patch on this. What a fucking band Joy Division were.
Very tough to do the vocals to this and not make a complete fool of yourself, but you managed it. There aren’t many good Joy Division covers around but this is definitely one.
You guys should be grateful that Garrett made an attempt to do vocals anyways. Covers are not always easy to sing, especially if your voice is much different from the original singer's. Even if his singing wasn't perfect, Garrett isn't Ian Curtis, and he did what he could to fit the energy of the song while still putting his own spin on it. We can't expect everything to be perfect.
This is the best cover of this song I may have ever heard. I honestly can't believe how good this is! If Joy Division was a synth band, they would have sounded just like this!
This is awesome, it adds a great contrast that is indescribably beautiful, the atmosphere, tone and vibe- the vocals; its all awesome and ethereal. Love this sm, great job!
I visited home a few years ago for my sisters graduation and my great step grandmother who is quite incoherent looked at me and said, "Get rid of that goatee, but keep the mustache." Best family advice I may have ever received.
I have been studying Martin Hannett a bit and trying to utilize some of those odd production styles into my own music. They are a very inspiring creative, not so much as a person lol.
The best Disorder cover ever ??...hands down - keep them coming. The genius of Curtis needs to be kept alive...I'm collecting Korg synths XD/WS/ModWave etc currently but would love a Matriarch obvs! can you cover "Dead Souls"...easily a top five single of all time?!

This is like if Joy Division was in the New Order era I love it!
I’d say it sounds like joy division in the joy division era. That synth sounds close enough to the stringed bass and 6 string guitar.
