Such very sad news. In the twilight of his life he probably introduced more people to quality USSR rock music than anyone else just through this song. It's a real rabbit hole to go down if you aren't familiar with Soviet rock. So much to be heard now by many. May he RIP.
That is possible if ALL people are educated properly, do not have greed, have high moral values, respect and care for one-another. It would require high level discipline from all. In a way Soviet Union was agood example of this - many cultures and ethnicities lived together as ONE! But West wanted it destroyed, and Soviet Union vanished with, along wit people's dreams of the future.
I don’t speak Russian, but i’ve learned to sing this song in Russian, listened to it so many times that my pronunciation is almost perfect. You are right. In Soviet times (like start-middle of 80s) even rock concerts were considered 'cultural events' which considered to be a place where respectful attendees are listening to a talented maestro. That changed relatively fast in several years, and by the end of 80s rock concerts became almost the same as it is now.
This was the last song I listened to with my father. He was diagnosed with brain cancer in May. He was operated on and came home in June. He was given 3 months to live. Throughout the summer we've listened to tons of songs, including this one. But this one touched us both. We even discussed how badly we feel about Oleg Parastaev's death. My dad passed away on the 15th of August, but this song will always remind me of him. Thank you Alliance

@@scrub_jay It could be. I was thinking a similar thing. Looks like they've gone through the effort to mic the bass amp, though I can't see a cable for the actual instrument lol. Also, no visible leads from either synth. Could be wireless or very savvy cable management but I'm thinking that in 1987 it was unlikely. Especially when they've dragged a PA mixer on stage for some reason!

С начала 90-х по середину нулевых я слышал эту песню по радио примерно 1 раз. То есть долгое время многие не понимали её значение. Приятно, что песня все же выбилась в культовые из безвестности. Это даже больше, чем я ожидал, когда иногда вспоминал, что вот же, была такая прикольная песня в детстве, не похожая на остальных, одна их тех, что потом носят дух времени, ты буквально помнишь что тебя окружало в те дни, когда её ставили на советском радио. Второй такой же песней из того же времени я считаю "Белая ночь" группы "Форум".

The culture in the Soviet Union has never been as open and free as it was then, and the song expresses that spirit very well in my opinion, even if the words may seem rather trivial to you.

In Soviet times (like start-middle of 80s) even rock concerts were considered 'cultural events' which considered to be a place where respectful attendees are listening to a talented maestro. That changed relatively fast in several years, and by the end of 80s rock concerts became almost the same as it is now.

@@scrub_jay It could be. I was thinking a similar thing. Looks like they've gone through the effort to mic the bass amp, though I can't see a cable for the actual instrument lol. Also, no visible leads from either synth. Could be wireless or very savvy cable management but I'm thinking that in 1987 it was unlikely. Especially when they've dragged a PA mixer on stage for some reason!

I'm not sure what I expected to witness when I opened this vid, but it definitely wasn't ultra-rad 80s mustache guy and awesome vocals. Sometimes TH-cam recommendations are actually really good, and this is one of those times.

I often come back to this song. There is so much in this video. Words fail me. It is the combination of the music and the audience. You could write a book about these 5 minutes. Once you fall in love with a country, you identify with it. I feel a deep connection to this particular clip. Glad it exists, and wonderful to read that more people feel this connection.
