Noxturnal well the first step is to love yourself and not be a jerk about others' tastes it helps with the emotional side :v (nah but honestly, look up technique tutorials if you want a starting point, and find songs you enjoy screaming to and use them to practice. drink lots of water, avoid milk like the plague whenever you can, and use honey after practice to help soothe your chords when they feel scratchy. during practice gargling salt water helps too.)

Meshuggah comes to mind as one of the best djent bands around. Of course, they predate the genre by a long time, since they invented it, or at least were the forerunners to it. Bleed and I Am Colossus are good chuggy songs of theirs. Of course, not everything they do is djent. They're a proggy death metal band.
There are some good djent bands out there. Periphery, meshuggah, monuments, uneven structure, tesseract, animals as leaders and intervals are a few names that come to mind. You just have to sift through a lot of shit and sadly djent is mainly known for the shit.
I only know some of these songs because of our football practices in the weight room. Right now we work out four days a week and two days go to rap and pop and two days go to metal. Only about 1/3 of our team actually likes metal, so the rappers always try to limit the metal playlist to one day a week, but like all the biggest, toughest players (myself included) are metalheads, so it kinda balances out. I'm just saying that there might be a correlation between metal and epic gains in the weight room. My favorite band is Megadeth, and I'm the second strongest kid on the team. Our Nose guard is the strongest kid on the team, and he routinely deadlifts 405 as a warmup and his favorite band is Cannibal Corpse lol.
