My 224 had no governor or oil sensor to bother with hehe 🤣. Good video though and I just like pickin on people. The Ducar was a better idea for me and I didn't mind waiting. Predators are great, I have a 212 hemi on one of my bikes that just keeps going and taking a beating. Most anyone has a HF near them, I have never been one to seriously rag on people over a brand name if it is working for them.
Just did this on my 224, no need to dremel that top Governor arm, it falls right out after you remove the clip. Also, just use a punch to remove the Governor wheel …that clip is a major PIA to remove…👍🏻
The music reminds me of... 🤔😲 NAPOLEAN DYNOMITE. Good video though, my 224 comes tomorrow. Just not sure what clutch, sproket and chain set up to go with... Any suggestions would be awesome.
@@tylertaughtme Honestly, my cars tranny took a shit n died. Saving money to fix it, and needed transport 3 miles to work instead of Uber and a GT Stunt bike 🤣. Now im waist deep into a hobby I didn't know I loved. So its for transportation to n fro in a 6.5 mile radius.
@@tylertaughtme the highest speed limit in this radius in 40mph, of course but traffic flow can make 50mph come easily. Im looking for a good blend of endurance as well as performance. Gas isnt a concern... Its a mini bike. And btw I have it on the coleman now 12t to 75t in the back, its QUICK from a stop. Top speed ain't bad either, just need the flywheel before I let the rpms rip.
Probably already bought a new pipe but you could have just cut off both exhaust flanges and welded on the stock pipe flange to straight pipe. I was surprised that it was different than the 212. What size tap and thread pitch did you use on the oil sensor hole?
I am finding out how good the stock ones are. If they blow up ill update everyone but I am confident they will hold up to a stage 1 since the stock baja warriors have plastic cams and are fine when I stage 1 them. Anything over stage 1 I would start swapping stuff.
You arent wrong lol they empty quick but it just needed slight adjustment. I ran it a few times after the video and I can get it spot on once I mount it to something. I think I will need to bump up one jet size.
I love my 212 built but LOVE my 224 none built for everyday usage! Your videos are A1 as they say in the Mini Bike Community!
I'm going to be digging into a 224 shortly on my channel. Good to see another perspective on the mods.

What about that murder stock flywheel?😮
why not just use a bolt and nut for oil sensor to? seems a lil safer then cutting threads in the block
Good job 👍

What are you doing with the bike? Drag racing, off road racing, just cruising the neighborhood?

I was thinking of buying one of these... tomorrow.... lol

Drill em out oval shaped and it will fit.
No one makes headers specifically for that flange still to my knowledge a year later LOL.
You are absolutely right. You have to drill out the holes on any exhaust you use on the 224cc… even a year later lol
@@tylertaughtme My Ducar224 has the same exhaust port.
Yeah no one makes em yet LOL.
Hell yeah brotha!
I just bought a mini bike with a 224 and that style carb and not sure how the knob on the carb works. In the down position is it run or start? Thanks
why did you pull the head to just change valve springs?
My cosmic brother 🌕🌠🌌🪐
Just did this to my engine but I put a cast aluminum flywheel on
It sounds like the connecting rod it smacking the crank case or the cam. you can def hear some knock.
Thats it dancing around on the ground, it isn’t bolted down lol…
Definitely rod knock Lol'
@@jacobsebastien3910 defined not rod knock lol I already said what it was.

What size tap and thread pitch did you use on the oil sensor hole?
It's probably smaller like the rest and all one needs to do is drill the holes out oval shapped and a regular clone header will fit.
Is there an easier way to delete governor without pulling motor apart?
Yeah zip tie governor spring
how well did the stock flywheel hold up?
Why didn't you tap the top hole, also? Only curious. Thanks.
Because it is an odd size and never taps well so I do it the only other best way which is double up the nuts
Flywheel and rod? I noticed you didn’t upgrade those.. are they stronger than the 212 and able to handle the higher rpms?

Is that a impact wrench or impact drill?
Do you have to make sure its a top dead center when you take the head off?
Na thats just what I do to make it as simple as possible.
@@tylertaughtme so no torque is needed when putting head back on engine?
Do you think I could use a metal cam fro an old parts 212 ?
If it's a hemi 212 cam yes not sure about non hemi
Did you source all your parts from one place?
I usually piece it together. Sometimes I buy a kit from somewhere if it makes sense price wise.
What size are those bolts that you used to plug
I know right I need to know
What feeler gouges did you do for the springs ?
Why didn't you explain lining up the timing marks between the crank and cam?
It’s in a number of my other videos.
What size jet in the carb, just got the 224 and it bogs on top end
I think I did a 135
What’s the name of that tool you use for the rockers to measure
feeler gauge
Jetting issues? Needs Fuel. Not saying that it doesn't need Tuning, only saying it doesn't take long to empty that lil bitty Float Bowl.

@tylertaughtme do you still have this setup and how have that rod and piston done
Where is the gas tank on it, I am so confused
Did you switch spark plugs? I have same exact setup but I switched mine to a autolite
Pretty sure I used a honda plug but it shouldn’t matter with a brand new one.
I luv my Wildcat 223 it's block is more Renforced than the predator 224 an it doesn't has a plastic cam gear like the predator 224 does.
Means nothing. You actually have to do a serious build for block strength to matter. 🤣
I dont like vm carbs Inhave used them on motorcycles, mini bikes, and atvs, and they are as unreliable as silly putty from $8-100.
