  • How to make Special Yema Biko?
    Here's what you'll need:
    2 cups coconut milk
    2 cups water
    2 cups glutinous rice
    3/4-1 cup dark brown sugar (depending on your taste pref)
    Yema Topping:
    1 can condensed milk (390g)
    1/4 cup coconut milk
    3 egg yolks
    Food for the soul:
    Psalm 19:1

    0:00 Introduction
    0:10 In a large pan, mix together coconut milk and water
    0:26 Turn on the heat on medium, and add in the glutinous rice
    0:58 When half of the liquid is absorbed, add in dark brown sugar and keep stirring
    1:22 Turn off the heat when most of the liquid is absorbed but not dry
    1:32 Transfer to a 9x7 inch baking pan
    1:41 Flatten the top part
    1:52 Yema Topping: In a pan, mix together condense milk, egg yolks and coconut milk
    2:04 Turn the heat on low then stir constantly until it thickens
    2:14 use a rubber spatula
    2:23 turn off the heat this time

    I like Biko specially in the morning breakfast but I have not try to eat Yema Biko. Wow The dark brown sugar look like a chocolate and that look delicious than a normal biko I taste.

    So glad to find your Channel. I subscribed already. I wanted to try this first, then a lot of yummy stuff you did. My question is what is your temp in your cookware (SM I supposed?) when you cooked the malagkit and coconut milk? and what is your temp when cooking the yema? TIA!

    It's called Wajik Ketan in Indonesia but a little drier and doesn't use topping on it.

    I tried this now, the measurement of all liquid seems to be wrong. I followed the recipe and the biko was not cook. 😡😡😡

      as far as i know you need to soak first the glutinous rice in a water before you cook it, kasi hindi naluluto ang malagkit sa gata kapag direct.. yan ang sabi ng nanay ko..
