Hmm, I'm going to try this, parang ang sarap ! I do the same thing with cassava cake , but I add the yema last 5 to 10 minutes of baking , increase oven temp to 400 degrees till I see brown flecks , never leaving my eyes off it . But one viewer of yours suggested using a kitchen blowtorch which is a better idea . After all, the yema is already cooked. The torching is to achieve a caramelized , finished look. I like your video very much.
I made this awhile ago. The recipe was good but I suggest that instead of putting 2 cups of water to the glutinous rice you can reduce it. We don‘t want to cook well the rice since we‘re going to mix it with the coconut milk with brown sugar. Ang kinalabasan kasi sa akin basa yung biko 😂 sa 2 cups kc na water luto na yung rice so hindi na nya maa absorb pa yung coconut milk mixture. Anyway ok naman sya. Makakain pa rin naman. Lol
I think the problem is the glutinous rice, magkaiba kasi tayo ng glutinous rice. I am using a Japanese glutinous rice at wala akong problema sa measurement . So ikaw na ang mag adjust sa tubig .Pangalawa ( rice and latik), dapat lutuin mo sya sa medium to medium high heat at haluin(haluin ng mabilis) para mag evaporate ang liquid at ma absord ng rice. So I cooked Biko differently, I boil the rice in a big wok I put margarine and coconut milk when the rice is semi cooked constantly stiring until it thickens when coconut milk cooks it can hold it's shape ,if you put in a pan what ever shapes the pan is it will hold the shape when it cools.if you topped it with yema you can just put as garnish or side dish.or you can burn yema topping soldarine torch or ligther torch (You don't need an oven) better yet use the one we use for cooking bibingka !😁

I tried it, MASARAP AND MALASA PO. I use 1/4 cup of honey instead of sugar and 1/2 can of condensed milk and I didn’t put ube. Salamat Kabayan!

So I cooked Biko differently, I boil the rice in a big wok I put margarine and coconut milk when the rice is semi cooked constantly stiring until it thickens when coconut milk cooks it can hold it's shape ,if you put in a pan what ever shapes the pan is it will hold the shape when it cools.if you topped it with yema you can just put as garnish or side dish.or you can burn yema topping soldarine torch or ligther torch (You don't need an oven) better yet use the one we use for cooking bibingka !😁
