Sometimes the upload date is wrong. This album came out in 2001 (maybe that's when it was uploaded, but I am old enough to know that the current youtube everyone knows, hasn't always been this way. The oldest music I find on here says "uploaded 14 years ago" but this song is now 23 years old. (Just incase you weren't aware or were curious - along with anyone else...)

Immortal Technique is (according to wikipedia) of "afro-peruvian descent", so I believe that means one parent is black one from Peru. Not sure though if that's more of an indigenous background or not
Afro Peruvian is like Afro Mexican. It is the acknowledgement of having some African descendants. Check out Susana Baca from Peru.

I actually learned to speak English from all my black homies. I remember my homies mom call me the n word. I was like that’s a bad word. She said you an n word to look at how you live and how you’re treated. We moved to the bay when I was 7 and in the hood I grew up in everyone used that word. It was just a part of the culture.
