    This song is not about testicles, or ballroom dancing. It's all about giving a big middle finger to radio censorship. They played this unedited back in the day and it was fairly outrageous.

    • @dylanguignion2036
      @dylanguignion2036 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No I’m sure I heard bon wrote it just for kicks. It’s a funny song. It’s about ballroom parties, testicles, boobs (she’s got big balls), and anything else that fits (crabs)

      Actually the lyrics are the double play on words seeming to be about ballroom dancing with the more than subtle double entendre so, yes that is what the song is about.
      The inspiration to write and perform songs like this was, indeed, the middle finger to the uptight who constantly criticized or wanted to censor them. Don't mix the meaning of a silly song with the intent to offend critics.

    • @bafumat
      @bafumat 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@barbarapacker5722 no. This song is about fuck censorship. Nothing else. It's an attitude. Not a literal message.

      @@bafumat again, I'm just saying you can send a message (F---- censorship) and still acknowledge the clever lyrics with the puns for people to sing along and laugh with, while the haters can do nothing about it. :)

    I remember when I was a teenager coming home one weekend night and my parents and uncle and aunt were sitting around the kitchen table playing cards when I walked in and they broke out in laughter. I looked at them like what is so funny. They told me that they decided to listen to one of my albums and it just happened to be Dirty Deeds Done Cheap. When they listened to the song Big Balls they couldn’t stop laughing. Now that they are all gone it is one of my favorite memories of them

    Normally "genius" is reserved for Mozart, Isaac Newton, Van Gogh, etc... but if we want to squeeze "Big Balls" into that category, I won't argue.

      Would depend on the radio market and management and censorship rules etc etc.. Nighttime’s tended to be the time most stations would play anything that was laid between the lines and on the edge.
      Look at 9 inch Nails and their track “Closer” the profanity was just bleeped out and you fully knew what it was all about irregardless and it was still played mostly at night back in 1994. Same applied to Ram Jam and (Black Betty) It all just depends on the management and the market and the rules. There is nothing set in stone here just proves one way or another censorship is a figurative thing and how the audience responds to it good or bad!

    Great reaction Biz. I remember the first time I heard this song my older brother and I bought the cassette tapes Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap and Back in Black. We lived in a small town so we a had two-hour ride home and listened to them on the way. When this song came on my mom was laughing so hard we had to pull over onto the side of the road. One of the best memories of my mom I have to this day. She is 73 years old and even now, if I play this song when she gets cranky (she’s not in the best of health), she still laughs the same way. It brings back so many awesome memories for me! So I thank you very much for having big enough balls to do it. I absolutely loved it.😀👍❤️✌️🌼

    Bon Scott always used his lyrics to 'suggest' something more expletive than his actual words... usually sexual 😂 He wrote these lyrics... also 'Go down' 😧... 'Gimme a bullet' (He's referring to honeyz' ta-ta's 🤣) ... 'Squealer' ... 'Night prowler' ... "Girl's got rhythm"... 'Touch too much'...😁
    AC/DC also has the songs 'Ballbreaker' ... 'Play ball' ... ⚽️⚾️🏀🏐

  • @JimmyRJump
    @JimmyRJump 2 ปีที่แล้ว +16

    Scott had a way with words. He had this peculiarity that his double-entendres escaped the regular crowd. He got away with it, every time. Because he was Bon Scott. Johnson never could do that. He doesn't have that wink in the eye. Especially the left one. You, my friend, you have winks all over yer face. And I luv you for that. You're a true person. You have veracity. Not that you never lied. But you're true. It makes a difference. To me, at least.

    Hey Biz. Now that you've gone this far down the AC/DC rabbit hole there's no turning back. You're a fan for life! Welcome to the club. This song was only played live once. It was in a very small venue just after it came out. Brian Johnson is great in his own way, but this is one of the early songs I don't think he could pull off. But it would have been interesting to hear Axl Rose try it when he filled in for Brian to finish their tour a few years ago.

Apparently some band did a cover and all these girls did not believe that ac dc was the original. We were in the "sports" area so we were tapping the windows like come here! To the guards, cuz i knew theyd know.. they came in batons ready, mace hoisted and aimed, tazers ready and we were like "who sings ive got big balls?!" They all said ac dc, were appalled at a cover, listened to it after that and trash talked it down so much after that😂 they came in ready for a fight and left laughing.

My mom picked up 16 year old me from a friends house and she was already annoyed bc I was supposed to be home. Then was mad noticing I’m h*gh af. She’s glaring at the road and I turn up the radio to ease the tension and this masterpiece comes on. I hear this guy sounding smug and fancy and he starts belting about balls and I’m dying about to piss with laughter and see my mom glaring at me now. She can’t decide whether to laugh or be mad but she is a huge acdc fan so she starts singing along and I was 💀 when we get home and she puts the car in park she starts glaring again and tells me to “cut the sh!t” 😭
    I will never forget that car ride 💕

    This is one of the main differences between Bon and Brian. bon's songs are all coming from a 12 year old kid. Think of Whole Lotta Rosie. Dude's hilarious and his voice is just epic.

    It's all a double entendre. And it's brilliant. Just like She's Got Balls.

    back in 1980, my car was set up with 4 speakers, and, for it's time , a "high" wattage auto audio system (25 watts a channel, lol) with an EQ., Sunday morning, i'm out cruising around, come rolling up to a crosswalk, just as that song comes on tape player...what the point to that? it was a crosswalk in front of a church and Church services had just ended, so the church was emptying, I had to stop to let congregation members cross the street...so here I am, with 70 yr old, old ladies crossing street, right in front of me, while me, in my car, all the windows down, cranking "Big Balls"....yah, I got some dirty looks, lol

    I heard this song for the first time about a month or so ago while pulling into a job with my work vehicle. I had a hard time parking my work vehicle because I was laughing so hard.

    You’d have to have big balls to sing this live. 🤣

    I was around 12 or 13 the first time I heard this song. I found it very titillating absolutely loved it at the time. I'm still quite amused by it. :)

    Me and my brother discovered this song when we were maybe 8/9 years old and thought it was the funniest thing ever..
