Most of your negative comments of the Leaf are subjective as I do not find any of the cars functions, buttons, heated seats etc a problem. This is my second Leaf and both have proved to be very reliable and well put together.
Thanks, Tish for the great look into the "future" for those of us still stuck in "fly-over" area of US. I still drive the 24KW battery Leaf in an area with no charging area within a 50 mile radius, so a 28 mile round trip on a day when it is 7 F/-13 C is risky. Departed with range showing 42 miles (with no heater, and only going 35 mph) and returned home with only 6 miles range showing (and electronic voice shouting). Thanks for showing how great the e-cars can be.
Hello There, a great review and thank you for sharing this, it's much appreciated. It was very detailed as well as really helpful throughout. Cheers Peter :-)
Great review but I still have my doubts about the Nissan Leaf. I have heard about problems concerning rapid charging due to no thermal management on the batteries and also that it uses the CHAdeMO rapid charging system whereas most use CCS. Do all rapid chargers provide for that? What if , Nissan subsequently updated future models to CCS then it may become obsolete. The only other car I have seen using the CHAdeMO system is the Lexus UX electric
Bit late to see this one but as an app driver, these are ideal for the job, was thinking Niro but this is cheaper on a finance deal, cheers for the help Tish
We had a electric Corsa as a courtesy car and got us home and back to dales in one charge after being charged up before we had it compared to going to filling up with fuel on the way back on either a petrol or diesel car but happy with the new turbo version of the corsa
Cars usually sense when a seat is unoccupied (so they can trip an alert if the seatbelt isn't fastened) and so don't switch on the heated seat if the seat is unoccupied. Doesn't the Leaf do that?
Today my Nissan Leaf has to go to Nissan heaven 2013 MK1 Purchased from Nissan Dealership, full service history and all repairs completed at Nissan and today at only 48k, yes 48k! miles the error code of inverter and motor was found with an estimated repair bill of £9800 pounds. Nissans response was car is over 8 years old so we cant help.
The facial expressions when describing the car's interior are a riot. The Leaf's interior is boring but a nice update from the original. I may have missed it think there was an opportunity to discuss the car's DC fast charging shortcomings. Also, it's locally made in the UK?
In the way that it can't be continuously fast charged? Or something else. I did not know its made locally! That is very interesting! In the same way that the Juke has some bits made in Sudbury?
@@AutoSocialUK Nissan manufactures the Leaf in Sunderland. The Leaf has no active thermal management for its battery pack which causes problems with fast charging.
I'd forgotten how practical the 62 kWh Leaf is. But price secondhand sort of gets in the way. There'll be someone who can make that lease deal work for them.
Great video as always!! The Leaf was a game changer when it came out. Not so much anymore. Still a decent EV, and it appears to be extremely well equipped. but not something I’d go for. Also, the integration of the Bose subwoofer is so poorly executed. Why put it in the middle of the floor when you can put it on the side of the trunk or under the floor like the Bose system in our 2018 Q7.
If it hadn't been for Nissan choosing ChaDeMo as their choice of plug and lack of an active cooling system for the batteries, I'd be driving the Leaf today.
Great Review, and very informative. I have to agree about the Heated Seat Buttons, they are just awful. I have the Nissan Navara and it has the same buttons, such a shame to put such old clunky buttons in a high tech car. I also find the quality of the cameras very poor, again disappointing for such a high tech car.
So it’s Nissan’s fault your cell phone tossing game needs some work? 😅 To be fair, you need to do the cell phone tossing test with all the other cars you review.
To buy new car and all day to check battery range and no listing music or heating or Ac because eat battery it's not good choice. I ask many people all regret electric choice
Do you also kind of have to look at it as; I was driving this car without having a wall box at home or at work so charging was inconvenient for me. If I could plug it in regularly then I probably wouldn’t need to watch my miles so much.
a lot of people really don’t like the earlier nissan leaf bubble shape but i think it looks way better. the new version looks so boring just another boxy uber car
What a load of rubbish about knocking on the electric seat heater switch on just look down and your see the light clearly on and it doesn’t use much electric in a 62kw car. Room in the back is good compared to others in the class. You seem to be negative most of the time.
The heated seats do not use much electricity at all but none the less, you're absolutely right, the buttons are inconveniently placed for sure!
Your confident delivery and thoughtful observations have come a long way since you started this channel. Well Done. 👍
Thank you so much! I've certainly grown ALOT in confidence, I know that much

Got a new Leaf and so far love it. Happy to see more and more EVs competing where the Leaf was once the only name in town.
Really glad you're enjoying your new Leaf!

I love the new leaf it’s been a great addition to our family as a daily driver for my wife - I always enjoy driving it

This is one of the best reviews. Thank you.
Thank you so much, that is very kind!
Now good value, three yrs old around £19k £1250 deposit contribution and two free services...but I am too sure about the dash as you said.
Go on son, smashing it, id sat tesla if u asked me to name an electric car
You’re right; the Leaf is SO 2015! I’m actually still yet to try a Tesla.... I think that could be a game changer for me.
We had a electric Corsa as a courtesy car and got us home and back to dales in one charge after being charged up before we had it compared to going to filling up with fuel on the way back on either a petrol or diesel car but happy with the new turbo version of the corsa

Great video Tish. Electric cars have come a long way since the original Leaf. You should try and get hold of a Tesla to review.
I'd forgotten how practical the 62 kWh Leaf is. But price secondhand sort of gets in the way. There'll be someone who can make that lease deal work for them.
Yes you can pick them up pretty cheap! However, I don't think you can go too wrong with under £200 a month if you're used to leasing!
Wonderful review. Thanks.
Thank you for watching
You have clearly done your homework Tish, thanks for the review.
I try! Thanks for watching Keith!
I mean 200 miles roughly is what I need combined motorway in winter
Yes because we charge our phones every freaking day, that's morning, lunch, and supper but wait before we go to sleep. Nothing wrong
Brilliant Midweek Review 🤩 also might sound cheeky but looking fabulous too 😀
Thank you very much! :) Straight hair for once!
Nice review both the car and yourself looking very sharp you're a snappy dresser 😃👍
There will be another Nissan EV coming called the Ariya, which is also a concept car.
It’ll be a coupe-style SUV.
Yep the Ariya is due towards the end of this year in the UK 👍🏼 310 miles will be a game-changer!!
That’s a good amount of range. I wonder if it’ll go ahead some EVs like the Tesla Model Y.
And good you removed the bot’s comment after I told it to fuk off.
hi tish what electric car do you like the best . but always great car reviews from you

Take a look at the Ariya...... let me know what you think? Yer i know, the sub does kind of just look like it's been tossed in there!
@@AutoSocialUK tbh I’d take the Leaf over the Ariya. I’ve always thought the proportions were off on the Ariya.
If it hadn't been for Nissan choosing ChaDeMo as their choice of plug and lack of an active cooling system for the batteries, I'd be driving the Leaf today.
It’s definitely becoming more of an issue
Could you tell me if the steering wheel can adjust up and down, closer or further from the driver thanks
Yes, my 2021 made Leaf’s steering wheel can adjust just like you asked.
Heated seats use practically nothing compared to the heater…
can you get extension lead for charging at home ..extend the reach of the chrager?
You can but it does have to be a special type to handle the rate of power
Great Review, and very informative.

No way will the leaf ever charge at 70KWh….
So battery cooling has been sorted in this spec then?
Eight year battery warranty seems reasonable. Still passive cooled.
So it’s Nissan’s fault your cell phone tossing game needs some work? 😅 To be fair, you need to do the cell phone tossing test with all the other cars you review.
You are quickly becoming my ‘go to’ car channel on TH-cam 😀👍🥇
Thank you Keith, that is so kind 😁😁😁 happy to have you here!!
Wait, do you now do videos on Wednesdays?
I do now I’m so busy yes! 😁
That’s good.
@@AutoSocialUK yes yes yes now another reason to look forward to Wednesdays can’t wait for these uploads

Sacrifice 10 miles for the heating....not gaining the quoted range.....no thanks

FANTASTIC, another great video and GREAT looking body work!
It’s hideous 👎 but great presentation 👍
It's not the EV for me either but will appeal to some people. Thank you for watching.

I am not a huge fan of either hahaha!

Sorry Paul, it just wasn’t for me
The heated seats are heated from the 12 volt battery!!! That's why you can heat you car seats with the app in the morning before you get in
