This necklace is ideal for someone just starting out, it's very pretty. The smashing bead is also know as a crimp.

Great video you made. Love the necklace you made and I love your accent.Another idea is to use crimp covers that look like round beads when closed over the crimps. You need to use a bead crimper to not smash the crimp covers. Blessed be.

I love these colors together. Crimping by starting in the middle is a really great tip. I'm just starting on jewelry making and have only done some basics things with one or two bead types. I've been trying to figure out how to do a Y-shaped necklace. Mil gracias para sus instrucciones. Tiene consejo util.

At the finishing touch you should make sure the wires are side by side, and not crossing when crimping the bead

What kind of wire did she use. Name and gauge size plz.

Hi Yvette, the wire she used is called Beading Wire and it's made up of many strands of stainless steel wire that are twisted together and then coated with nylon. The cheapest version of this wire is made up of only 7 strands of stainless steel wire and it's often called Tiger tail. Tiger tail is great for beginners because it's cheap and it's not too bad for making bracelets and necklaces, but - because it only consists of 7 strands of wire - it's the least flexible of all the beading wires available. I've been making jewellery for a few years now and I usually use the 19 strand beading wire made by Soft Flex. This, as the name suggests, is made up of 19 strands of wire and it's the middle of the range wire. The Soft Flex beading wire is the best beading wire I've ever found and it's very flexible, and it comes in different colours, including sterling silver, gold, copper and bronze plated wire. The stainless steel strands are plated with silver or gold or whatever, and then coated with nylon, so it never tarnishes. The most expensive beading wire is the 49 strand which is the most flexible and beautiful. It drapes really well, but I wouldn't recommend it to a beginner because it's just not necessary. The 7 strand beading wire by Beadalon is very good too, especially when you consider the price and how good it is. It's much better than the usual Tiger tail. There are a few companies that make beading wire, including Soft Flex, Beadalon and Flex Rite. Now, the one thing that confused me when I was starting out was which thickness of wire to get. Whether you buy the 7, 19 or 49 strand beading wire, they all come in different thicknesses - or diameters. These range from very thin ie. 0.010 of an inch or about 0.1mm to the thickest which is 0.024 of an inch or about 0.8mm in diameter My suggestion is to buy a beading wire that fits into the majority of beads, and that size is 0.014 of an inch or 0.35mm. Or, you can use the 0.019 of an inch beading wire. The 0.014 is thinner than the 0.019, so it will fit through very small holed beads, but it's not strong enough for stringing larger, heavier beads onto. It is a good sort of all - round wire though and a lot of people swear by it.
Anyway, I hope this will help you a bit and if you have any more questions please ask.
