THANK YOU for taking ur precious time to teach, video tape, & share with us ALL, how to make this beautiful necklace! I/we GREATLY APPRECIATE your time & effort.
I m,ade this neckalce for my niece wedding. Now my aunt has it because she fell in love with it. Thank you for such a great tutorial. One of these days I will make another one for me. I love, love that nacklace, I was outstunnig in my turquoise dress. Thank you so much.
Thanks for sharing! I'm a "Newbie" in the world of jewelry crafts so your tutorial inspired me to work with stringing beads! I am working with polymer clay making a variety of pieces that I can use this technique with!
Lovely necklace and i just tried it out. What i found best to make it 'less of a challenge' in the end is that i left the 'closure' end of the 4 beaded lines a bit longer. This made life much easier to string on the closing clampshell and crimp bead. Then i just cut off the 'extra bit' once i locked in place the 4 ending beads and crimped the crimp bead before closing up the clampshell. Hope this helps other too ;) and thanks Ruby, such lovely work!!
as always just beautiful....wish I had seen this in April before I had all those floating Mother's Day necklaces to do and use all those crimps...this way is brilliant....THANKS for sharing....Happy Beading
I've made a few of these and they are very pretty. Thanks so much for the idea. I've adapted this with a single version minus the chain so I could teach a group of little girls. Turned out very nice and they liked their necklaces because they couldn't see the monofilament cord. lol. Great job!
Hi Ruby, I'm so glad that I found your channel. I've been looking everywhere for a tutorial on 'How to Make an Illusion Necklace with Monofilament' and yours is the first real monofilament necklace video that I've found! So thank you Ruby. This is great.
Ruby thank you so much .I'm new at bead work. am just learning as I go. I have tried to make this necklaces. but couldn't figure out to-do it I enjoyed the video. Thank You again keep up the good work.
Ruby - most illusion designs require you to crimp each and every bead in place, thus requiring far more supplies and I think time. This is brilliant AND beautiful! Love those crystals! Once again: Thank you so much for sharing your time and talent, not to mention designs. I've learned a lot from you and really appreciate all you do. Jodi (Using hubby's TH-cam account!)P.S. I love your sense of humor too!
Ruby, I am speechless! I had in mind for long time to make the floating necklace, but could not find the decent way to make it. I actually do not like to use crimp beads at every bead on the floating necklace, it does not look neat for me. But your project, your video made my day once I saw it. Thank you very much for sharing. Now I am all set for my project.
My small suggestions if you have extra fishing line at the end of necklace it would be easy to use crimp bead and crimp bead cover then u can trim the extras
Oh this is so pretty, I purchased one like this one,and my it was expensive, So pleased i can now make these necklaces,in what colours i require. Diana.
This design is fabulous, thank you so much for the tutorial. I have been making these floating necklaces for friends as gifts and they love them. Again, thank you.
Ruby Lockwood It's been over a year and now finally getting around to try and recreate this. Do you have a Facebook like page? I would love to show this online and point it out who inspired me to make it on jewelers.community. I still get a big chuckle of when you said, "hang on to it for dear life..." LOL
Oh my gosh. You need to show off your finished piece more. . . especially in the first few frames of the video, to get us all pumped up and excited. And then at the end so we can admire it. Maybe you could tack on some shots to the front and end of this and re-post?? Love the necklace!
I very much enjoyed the floating necklace, I love it I just wish your hands while down farther while you were showing me . I do think I got it and I will try at it, but I might have to come back and watch again.Thank you very much. Pamellen
thanks very much for showing this i'm in the process of making a string of colored pearls for a friend of mine and this might be just the thing i'm looking for. it wont take up as many beads and will look twice a better with fishing line cause its just about invisible. edit: just waiting for all my supplies to arrive that ive ordered online
This was awesome. This necklace will make great gifts. Can you show a video on how to crimp with in to make the same style on two strands? Thank you for the lovely ideas.
Hi loved the necklace....i intend to make it ....but disappointed a little with tutorial as on parts couldn't see because out of view also hands where in the way....i do understand it is differcult to show everything....so i will have to guess some parts...otherwise just love it,,,,,keep up the good work.......so pretty....Teggie
Ruby, you can just use a lighter heat up the four ends slightly, this will let the strings go through the loop at once easily. Just my opinion, I saw my grand did this while she was weaving.
I love this necklace, it's so beautiful and I appreciate you sharing your knowledge and creation with us. It would be helpful if you could be more mindful to having your hands in camera view when you are doing each step.
Is it possible for you to show us the most important parts (how to do the clam shells and jump rings) on camera? The easy part is shown, but the harder parts, probably the most important, are done off camera? Beautiful necklace, but off camera is very difficult learn. Thank you in advance.
Hi Ruby,i have a little tip for you to grab the end of your invisible thread if you use a pair of twizzer it will be very easy to grab those so if you wan't to try let me know if you like this like i do! Beautiful Necklace !:-))
what can I say :) its a perfect beautiful and brilliant tutorial.. loved it and am gonna try making it.. Thanks for uploading the video.. hope that u come up with lots more :)
I am a jewelry business man and always try to come up with new styles but this video titles made me astonished the word "invisible". Finally, you did that. Thank you so much for this video. Could you advise me how much was the cost? Thank you in advanced.
Wonderful work! Amazing necklace, indeed! Thank you so much for sharing. It would just be nice to place the camera in a way we could see all the details, as your hands were sometimes off screen.
Hi, Ruby, I love this necklace! I realize this tutorial is a couple of years old, but i was hoping you could share where to find the clam shell crimp bead covers. Thank you
Love this easy tutorial! I have a question though, I am trying to make this necklace and can't keep the string from curling. I've even straightened it with my flatiron but as I add beads it starts getting curly again.
I have never had that problem with it curling...however with the weight of the beads it should lay flat as mine has done...its still a bit curly but nothing overwhelming...might be if you used heat on it will cause it to curl more or worse...try doing without using heat on the line...I used fishing line which comes on a big roll so its not too curly...:)) Hope that helps :)) Happy Beading
hi Ruby love your necklace I didn't hear on the video did you use all the same length on all the strands or did you use different links you know like 20 inches on 1 19 inches on 1 18 inches on one or did you use all the same length for all of them thank you for all your wonderful tutorials hope you have a wonderful Christmas
hi I love your tutorial, you made look very easy. I am a first timer in making jewelry. I was wondering can you make a floating bracelet.? the same way?
I wonder if this technique would work with flat beads. I'm working on a "falling leaves" necklace for fall (it's early October at the time I posted this) and the invisible wire would make the leaves look like they've been frozen in the act of drifting down from the tree. Only one way to find out: I must try it! Even if it didn't work, the green one would be perfect for the holidays in a few months.
So I was making a necklace and while watching your video I decided to do floating beads well I came to a bump on the road I have a big oval bead that works great but I have big Pearl's that is giving me a headache once I lock them in place the wire pops out in the back how do i get it to snuggle the pearl the way it does the bead?
Love. I'm afraid my crimp will slip...what do you do to be reasonably sure it won't, aside from doing the crimp as tightly as possible? Do you choose not to use crimping pliers for this reason, or is that just a personal choice? Thanks so much.
Everytime I use crimps they never work properly for me and my string pulls out...if I use my pliers I have yet to have a crimp break or thread pull out...if you don't have the exact crimpers for the exact bead it don't work..and I never have the right matching ones lol...or just too expensive to buy all the different sizes..:))
Ruby Lockwood Thanks so much! I just made an invisible necklace with pearls using crimps to hold the beads in place instead of looping back through as you did...had some crimps slip. Necklace isn't exactly invisible anyway since crimps show...not a look I really like! But doing the crimps for the ends is just as important. I'm going to try your way. :)
Hi Rudy, Your explanations and tutorials are awesome however your camera angle blocks a lot of the things you are doing. Just wanted to let you know I am the kind of person that needs to see everything you are doing lolThanks much
Pretty necklace but the video is frustrating to watch because the spot you were working on was out of view a lot. As a beginner, I need to see all the steps. I hope you do another video that shows a wider view. Your designs are really beautiful.
Hm... what if it slides though, I mean it is not kept with a knot or anything, just the tension you put into the fishing line when you pulled it tight thus it created a crease at that point which is enough to keep it, what about long term usage, won't the thread kinda revert into a more straighter and loser shape thus the beads will start collapsing due to gravity?
So far mine has not done that...and I don't believe it will because I don't wear the necklace day and night only on occasion or when I wear that color...I did make this for an entire wedding party some time ago and to this day they are still in perfect condition...I store all my jewelry in containers covered with a little plastic baggy to prevent it from discoloring or like you said losing shape.....Lots of ppl hang there necklaces up on hooks...the majority of jewelry we make is costume jewelry and its not meant to last forever...lol...all threads no matter what we use will stretch overtime...:))
This is a great tutorial - thanks! I have a semi-unrelated question, though: What are you using to hold your materials? I'd love to get some of those, they're the perfect size for small lots of materials!
THANK YOU for taking ur precious time to teach, video tape, & share with us ALL, how to make this beautiful necklace! I/we GREATLY APPRECIATE your time & effort.
Dear AmyLee Brooks, I couldn't have put it better myself. 🙂🙂🙂❤❤❤
@@amandajones6481 😊
Very pretty. A lot easier & less expensive than using crimps to separate the beads Thank YOU!
Your video is a life saver! Struggled to make an invisible string of beads for a craft.

Wonderful, but couldn't see too much. I learned enough, however to make this lovely thing so thank you Ruby for giving of yr time!
I've made a few of these and they are very pretty. Thanks so much for the idea. I've adapted this with a single version minus the chain so I could teach a group of little girls. Turned out very nice and they liked their necklaces because they couldn't see the monofilament cord. lol. Great job!

Thank you.... Your instructions was very clear 😊
Thanks for the video! You explained it so it was easy to understand what you were doing.
My mom would love one of these! I think I might make one. Thanks.
Only issue, you put the camera in focus, only was not focused where it had to be. So we literally saw nothing, only assumed what was happening
thanks very much for showing this i'm in the process of making a string

Very nice and very beautiful.
Beautiful work! Thank you for posting! I can't wait to watch another video of yours.
Dear Ruby, I was frustrated because you kept going out of frame while showing us how to do the necklace. Beautiful necklace though.
Muyyyy muyyyy hermoso gracias por compartir, pero me gustaría que fuera un poco más explicado desde el comienzo deseo hacer ese hermoso trabajo

Where do you buy your chain and chain extenders from?
Beautiful

This is a great tutorial - thanks! I have a semi-unrelated question, though: What are you using to hold your materials? I'd love to get some of those, they're the perfect size for small lots of materials!
How long is the chain on both sides of the necklace ?
Which is more flexible: Fishing line or invisible cords?
My fishing line got very curly when stringing the beads. How do I prevent this?
What kind of beads would be good for this project? Can I use any kinds of beads??
Yes you sure can...:)
