- In this episode me and GT hit some hills, making our way over to Peddling Squares for what should have been a social ride out on the bikes, I also give my final thoughts on the Trek Domane SL7

Good review. I experience the same thing with my Gen 4 SL7 - slightly reluctant acceleration. The wheel set is good enough fur stomping, I have heard that dropping tyre size down to 28mm width for road helps without compromising comfort on tarmac. But at 62 years of age, this bike takes care of the arthritic joints and is just a joy to ride, even on the shorter summer evening out and out blasts.
I bought this exact bike (same color even) to have as a bike that could do both road and gravel...Refreshing to hear it's working for you in that capacity. I'm still getting used to it, but I swapped to a 48/35 Sram Force kit straight away and it's worked great! My set-up is pretty aggressive, too though. I cut 1" off the fork and will likely cut more by the end of the season, since I'm not too comfortable sitting up as far as endurance geometry would like...now I've got 1 bike, 3 sets of wheels, 3 cassette combinations. Should be enough....
Thanks for explaining differences between the Domane and the Checkpoint . My local Trek store is holding me a Domane . I was hit by a car last fall , so I haven’t decided how much road riding I will do. Great channel, my new favorite!

Great video! Would love your input on this bike! 🚴 I just tried the Domane SL 7 Gen 4 in a 52 and a 54 and the 54 felt a bit to big when I was trying to reach the peddles and the seat was as low as possible. Then I tried the 52 and it felt a bit small. What would you recommend I do? Love the bike!
New canyon endurace cf is one of the quickest endurance bikes out there and mega comfy at that. Tried it recently and its waay faster than my old domane al. If you want a bit more speed, maybe give it a try. Think it might just be what you're after.

It's a sporty Cadillac, not a Corvette. Maybe with a larger chainring you might get a little more spring out of it?
I have a domane sl5 and my conclusions are identical. Great all around bike for do it all types off cycling. But lacks the zing. Looking at emonda or madone…..

The SLR is not as fast as the rsl . I have the rsl and it’s fast.
@@ekm3820RSL has the same geometry as the Emonda.

Machine mate. I think the Domanes a fast bike but I guess it has its limits once your at peak condition with weight and fitness.
