We're going over the Jacob Markstrom trade to the New Jersey Devils, with defenceman Kevin Bahl and a draft pick coming back to the Calgary Flames.

I'm a devs fan too. Mercer will get done. I'd love to get zadorov. Holtz should be very cheap. Hes never really lived up. Like to see what Keefe gets out of him tho. Lindy hated him
Calgary should send Benning a thank you card for gifting Marky and Tanev for nothing and look at the haul that the Flames get back. Benning gives us another reason to hate him more.

Im not a huge Markstrom guy, so if I were the Devils I would have rather give up the same and another pick for Ullmark, but I guess time will tell
Not to mention the NTC means that there were fewer teams in the mix, so maybe it was for the salary retention? Still not the biggest fan of this trade for NJD
I think the asking price for Ullmark would've been far more. Their #10 2024 pick would have been in play, and it would've taken more than Bahl or Holtz to get the deal done. I think honestly it would've hurt.

Devils shouldve just signed KAHKONEN he was the best goalie theyve had in a while
You know I was saying they should've traded for him earlier in the year when the goalie trouble started..then we do get him and he really wasn't that bad..a whole yr of him and Allen could've worked..but sometimes you do moves like this as a GM to show the team how serious you are
however you think Markstrom is the devils are desperate for him.
