  • The Mustang suspension from the factory is a quality design but has a lot of non performance parts. Upgrading the parts with performance in mind is a fantastic way to improve how your classic Mustang handles and steers. Once such suspension upgrade is an ORP roller idler arm

If you’re doing a stock style suspension on a classic mustang and aren’t using Opentracker Racing Products, you’re missing out, IMHO.
John is also one of the best guys I’ve encountered in this hobby. And that’s high regard because I’ve met some great folks.

Agreed!! I have been friends with John for about 20 years and he, like me, is for sure a car guy first and business owner second.

I put one on my 1964 Falcon this spring, and love it. They are not cheap though, compared to a stock arm. I believe it is worth it, if you appreciate good parts.

They are for sure quality parts and as they say "you get what you pay for." 😁

I was actually expecting the price to be double what it is for the trans-am unit. Good information. Thank you for share sir.

I see they are advertised as a manual steering upgrade. I am installing a borgeson box power steering. Should I expect simmilar improvement?

Eliminating the flex on the passengers side would be beneficial for both a manual and power steering car, but other than that I am not sure. I do know he has different listings for manual and power steering but I guessing that is specific to OEM power steering and is not likely to apply to the borgeson box. I would recommend contacting John at Opentracker. Like me he is a car guy first and a business owner second and will give honest advice. He is the kind of guy who refuses to sell you something you don't need so if he doesn't think it would help he would say so.

@@dazecars thanks! I will reach out to him. I’m researching putting a T5 in my 68 stang to replace the Toploader so I’m watching all of your videos. It’s a mild 306 with 3:55 gears and I am definitely running out of gear on any type of highway.

Not sure what your plan is but If doing a T5 swap I recommend avoiding using an adapter plate with old school bellhousing. The problem, is old school 4-speeds worked with a bellhousing that could have up to a tolerance of up to .030" and a T5 requires a tolerance of .005". That means using a dial indicator and shims to make sure the bellhousing is perfect for the T5. It's worth the money at that point IMHO to just get a T5 bellhousing to begin with and be done with it. If you have any T5 swap questions don't hesitate to email me and I would be happy to help.
