Arduino Metal Detector DIY project

- Its a simple design and just for experimenting,8 parts needed to make this simple metal detector.
Parts: 3 meteres solid copper wire,220ohm and 1kohm resistors,capacitor 100nf,one led,one passive buzzer and arduino board.

You said in the video the orange and red wires go to analog inputs, which isnt right. only the orance goes to an input (to measure the cap load), and the red one to an output for sending short pulses to the coil.

I never heard back from you as to what is the gauge/diameter of the copper wire? Maybe the gauge doesn't matter? Also, one other thing that confused me was when you plugged the USB cable from your power supply (on the 5V side) into the Arduino, the reading was 0. 03 A = 30 mA but it also said 11.1 V. I was expecting it to say 5 V as in a normal USB voltage. No ? Please I would be grateful for your reply. Thanks, James
his power supply has a 5v buck converter, a phone power bank would work for this

using it outdoors seems less suitable, since it seems like it responds to the capacitive effect of the 60hz or 50hz mains power. or does it in some other way generate magnetic fields around it? or any less known effect?
The magnetic field frequency pulse is generated by the Arduino

Yes need to be isolated
He meant to say a wire with insolation by a thin layer of laquer. The same as in motors or transformators etc. That's why he scratched it off at the ends before soldering. Or you can burn it off.
