Can you build a long range metal detector? like the AKS, TFR-4 ect?
Is it possible to increase the detection range to for example 1 or 2 meters?

I have implemented your circuit and I get a frequency sound in the speaker for a couple seconds then it stops and the L LED on the Arduino turns on and the circuit stops working , any idea why this might occur?
He's a funny guy and he explains it well. His detector is probably the best place to start to learn the basic stuff of how they work and how you can use a microprocessor with one to translate the detected electromagnetic changes from the coil to the speaker.
There's a few quality circuits out there like the
Geotech Baracuda Rev-A Legend Kit which you can build and put inside one of those cheap-chinese $55 metal detectors (ebay). Coils are important. Some people wind their own.

Is there anyway i can increase the range?
Sorry I’m late but increasing the sensitivity would make the range better, but less conductive materials would make a higher pitch, so just make sure you know about that, another thing you can do is make the normal pitch low and make it more sensitive to make the pitch correct
