    Our Rating System:
    We rate albums out of 10. Any album that scores 8 or higher gets a Toe Tag. If an album gets Two Toe Tags then it gets added to the list in the link above. We do not review EP's but we may cover them in our New Release videos should they come up.
    In regards to our Reaction videos:
    As many of you know TH-cam can be an unpredictable and often unfair place when it comes to copyright rules and their enforcement. If our video ends up getting cut due to copyright reasons it will be labeled in the title as a Review rather than a Reaction. The music video portion of the video will be cut out and you will only see our before and after thoughts. Unfortunately this is the best we can do under those circumstances and we would appreciate a Like rating on our videos to help us overcome any negative algorithmic affects.

    I think they’re criminally underrated. Josh knows what a metal head wants! Awesome riffs, solos, breakdowns, emotion, melody. Sylosis has it all, all of the time.

      They have been severely underrated for years. Even when Jamie Graham was the vocalist. I found them in 2010. And fell in love with conclusion of an age. Have loved everything they have released since. I wish they would get more attention. So many people missing out

      ‘Sylosis has it all, all of the time’. Absolutely spot on dude, they are the best metal band in the game and have been since Conclusion of an Age. Absolutely phenomenal band, the next Death.

    Sylosis continues to be great, riffs for days! Also loved the clean vocals, which worked well in the song.

    How lucky I am to see this reaction after asking about it in another video, this song is just a banger from start to finish, Sylosis is one of those bands I get excited about new releases the most and this one delivered on every aspect of their arsenal they have thus far showed the world, riffing, soloing, vocals were huuuge here, the seamless transitions in vocals between harsh and clean singing is something I really like about Josh's vocals, the energy in this song as well is so strong, you cannot help but headbang.
    Loved waking up to find this in my subscriptions, starting the day right!

    It’s funny you guys bring up trivium because they’re actually the reason I got into sylosis. Trivium had them play an opening set for the virtual concert they did during the pandemic and sylosis just blew me away. I’ve been a fan ever since

    GREAT band! Their sound is in that sweet-spot between Thrash and Metalcore - and I guess one problem for them is the fact that they might not be Thrash enough for 'Thrash purists' and not your standard Metalcore either.
    Great to compare them to Trivium - they're definitely different to them but Sylosis are one of the first bands I'd recommend to a Trivium fan.

      Melodeath too, not recently it’s far more metalcore and thrash but stuff like edge of the earth is like the perfect mixture of melodeath and thrash

    This song had everything great about Sylosis and took it up a notch and made it even heavier! His primal screams and also deeper lows reminded me of Dyscarnate. This is probably their heaviest song ever. Fuckin love it

    That chorus riff is so sick. It's a pretty basic riff, but combined with Josh's delivery and how hard the song leans into it, it's groovy as fuck. I enjoyed this more than any of the non-album singles they've released. It's my understanding that this will be from an album. I can't wait. Getting my neck brace now.

    I've watched a couple of your previous reactions to Sylosis, I dig their style. Did you guys see that Vintersea just dropped a new song? The new song is called "At The Gloaming Void" and it's a freaking banger, are you guys gonna cover it on the channel? I've enjoyed your previous Vintersea reactions, so I'm really interested in hearing your thoughts on it! Great video guys! 🤘🤘🤙🤙

    I heard this song the first time without knowing what band it was, i guessed it could be Slipknot or even more so Vended, i think the singer sounds similar in these bands and the melody is closer to Vended than to Slipknot.

    I think the problem with Sylosis is they came in late to the party in comparison to bands like Trivium. Trivium and the colleague they have who also started in the early 2000s have a huge head start and people get really defensive of things that are older and stick with what is nostalgic. Josh didn't even do vocals until 2011 and by that point guys like Trivium already had five albums under their belt and were established.
    The other problem is Sylosis was kind of doing the same thing Shadows Fall was doing and that was a hindrance to Shadows Fall being left behind by those other 2000s bands. That being that they had more of an older style mixed in with what was current. Now I feel like Sylosis doing what they should have done from the beginning but it might be too late.
    We just have to see what they do with the next album because I feel like this album is actually not what will define the rest of their career growth. This was the foundation for what they should build upon going forward. I am curious if they keep this direction or they take it too far on the radio rock side in an attempt to get bigger. You can definitely hear it in some of his vocals and the music itself that they're mixing in some radio rock tendencies and it totally works for them as long as they keep it in check and balance it with the what made them Sylosis in the first place.
    And I could be wrong on this but I think it might also be a label/location issue. I don't know how big Nuclear Blast is compared to Roadrunner Records but I'm fairly certain Roadrunner is much bigger and has a higher marketing budget to toss at Trivium. And being that Sylosis is based in the U.K. I don't know how much they tour internationally compared to Trivium. And Trivium has the advantage in the U.S. because they live there. There's just a lot more places for them to play vs the U.K. Of course there's also Europe but again I don't know what Sylosis' touring looks like. I wonder if they would have more success if they switched to Roadrunner Records as well.

    Very underwhelmed by this, I haven't really cared for any of their music since Monolith. It feels very by the numbers to me, like yep that's a Sylosis song.

    • @storedmush
      @storedmush ปีที่แล้ว

      After EOTE they never matched the top Sylosis vibe. But they're one of the best around anyway.

    • @puppetmaster8551
      @puppetmaster8551 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@storedmushEOTE is Peak Sylosis but monolith is a stellar record too and the last 3 records have all been good to great even if they aren’t EOTE level. Josh said he’s highly considering making an EOTE 2 so we might return back to that sound which would be sick
