Sylosis are kings of the mid-tempo groove. I enjoyed this far more than any of the other non-album singles they've released. Josh's lows remind me of the lows from Dyscarnate. They sound pretty similar, and I love it.

Trivium is cool tho and are Sylosis fans, Matt had them open for them during the pandemic when they streamed a live event during early pandemic days. Sylosis is incredibly good, very few metal bands ever have dropped to albums as good as edge of the earth and monolith in back to back years.

It’s mainly just the cleans here imo, definitely Matt Heafy vibes big time on that section. Instrumentally I don’t think it’s that close to trivium.
