Also, Cristiano Ronaldo has always been a little bit of a diva which for a lot of people translates into being just plain uncharismatic and unlikable. Same thing for me. I think CR7 is in the GOAT conversation, 2nd best all time for me. But Messi, I just enjoy watching him play more. He's so tidy, every touch, the dribbles, the vision, the intricate passing, the range of passing (short, long, through balls, switch of play). I do think CR7 is the more dangerous goalscorer, but Messi isnt far off. He can hurt you with a goal or with an assist. I'm a Man City fan and Messi is essentially like a combination of Aguero, David Silva and KDB. He can pretty much do what they can do, and then some.

People used to say that about Real Madrid btw for the UCLs they won under Zidane, where they got away with some huge penalty and onside/offside decisions. Argentina had 2 very lucky penalty decisions from the 5 they got, particularly the ones against Poland and France.
