I went to HighSchool with Darrell and am lucky to say he was my best friend for about three years during that period my life. He was funny and sweet and so crazy. He is missed every day and I think he would be extremely happy that you got this guitar. he would totally totally did what you're doing with your music. Absolutely! Congrats!!

metfan4l They’re about $20,000. Just have rare electric guitars build you one for $500 and upgrade the pickups to emg’s and get gotoh tuners and you’re good. I’ve got one and it’s better than my Epiphone 1984 explorer by a good margin. You can have the esp logo left off or replaced with a logo of your own design if you don’t want the esp name on it. The guys who build those guitars really know what they’re doing and go out of their way to make sure they get happy customers.

I've seen some with the same pickups go for around 600-800 dollars depending on what finish you want and where you buy it. Btw, please avoid any cheap versions, atleast if you want the floyd rose. They have a really bad reputation. :)

No other guitarrist had or will make me headbang like dimebag... ever. Or fly... his riffs were "simple" but so effective, so powerful that he didnt need more to make the crowd loose their heads. And those solos... omg. He was so complete. For example, the floods outro is the most mesmerizing minute of music made by an electric guitar that i've ever heard, and they are just freaking arpeggios with delay.

I don't think I've ever clicked on a video so fast. By the way, I haven't seen anyone get so close to Dime's tone. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, it's impossible to replicate, but I've never seen anyone get closer. Cheers.

On the clean its not tinny enough and destorted it is not dirty enough that rasp is not there. To me Ola Englund does his own version on Dimes sound and spinkles his own sound on it and i like it.

The Dean From Hell, nice one! I think there's particular guitars that we all hope that we'll cross paths with at some point, mines one of the ESP Hetfield Explorers from the mid to late 90's, loved those guitars ever since I was a kid too :)
I have the exact same guitar! I used to drink and party with Darrel and the guys in Pantera on a regular basis. I live in Lawton, Oklahoma and they came and played at the Hard Roxx at least once a month. So, I am very lucky to have known them personally.

My friend Mike knew Dime & Vinnie. He was there the night that the Dean from Hell was created. To get technical, the original Dime finish is that orange finish showing through the blue. That's the original guitar that he won and it was an orange color with no Floyd Rose. It had a V tailpiece like a 70s Flying V. You can see him playing it around 14 yrs old and in some early shots of Pantera, before it was transformed into the Dean From Hell.
Now we want a full cover of a Pantera Song.

I had that Guitar World poster on my wall too!! When I finally saved up to buy my first "good" guitar (after playing a crappy Aria Pro II flying V) I searched the local newspaper (The Buffalo News) and found a guy selling a guitar called "1992 Guild Nova" for $250. This was before the internet so I called the guy and asked "what does it look like? He asked me "Ever hear of Dimebag Darrell?" I was like "YEAH!!" he said "it's shaped like that, only it's red, solid mahogany, neck through body, and sounds amazing" I told him "You sold it when you said Dimebag". My brother in law drove for 4 hours to get to him house up in the mountains...that guitar (along with the other 4 Guild Novas that I've found over the years) have been my favs since day one, all because of Dime!!

I play left handed so my selection of guitars is rather limited, I ended up buying the far beyond driven dean and "dressing" it up with the leaf sticker like Dime's. Dude was one of the best thats for sure!!

MyNameIsNidos With Kiss you have to think on the perverted side of things most times with their music so heavily sexually motivated then it will actually be more likable. But god of thunder is still one of my favorites by Kiss which is Gene Simmons vocals not Paul Stanley which may be why that one just stuck with me more.
Ginatzzo The reason why people make fun of them is because of how ridiculously big they got to the point they got their name on anything from condoms to credit cards. Another is because Gene is one of the most egotistical assholes on the planet because of the shit he's been talking lately. Lastly their music just isn't good anymore, they did release some really classic albums but they haven't done anything good since. Even Ace Frehley said he thinks new kiss sucks and that they're brainwashing their fans to think they're still good. Overall they do have a legendary legacy, but they're really past their prime and should've quit years ago.
When I bought my first guitar (an Ibanez RG), people were crazy about divebombs, and I have no freaking what it was until I saw a tutorial video by Dimebag himself showing how it's done. Totally blown away.

To stop the springs rattling the best way is to tighten up the claw inside the trem system. Otherwise I would expect that your pickup issue is either a broken wire or a fault in the switch. Both of these are pretty easy to fix with multi-meter and soldering iron. One point I must make is that if you decide to try and fix the electrics yourself do lay out cloths between the body and the wiring/controls you are working on. It would no doubt be very upsetting for the finish to be ruined by blobs of solder.
