Doing a 408 Stroker build for my f body trans am and was curious if you used the stock windage tray and oil pan for your build and how you made it work? I did the 4” windage tray and the 4” stroker oil pan and now it won’t fit because it hits the steering rack???
@@Zacharylanford619 I used the LS1 oil pan off of the engine that came in the car. The 4th gen 6.0 block I’m assembling now requires spacers to make the windage tray fit and some slight negotiating of the oil pump pick up. The 3rd gen 6.0 block that I just pulled out did not require spacers. However, it was a Blueprint Engines crate motor that they assembled, so it may have had something to do with the main cap studs they chose.
@@Fbodygarage Alright thank you! That’s what a few others have said as well. Just trying to get as much info as possible. Mentioned that you will need 2 spacers all the way around and it should work then
@@Zacharylanford619 yeah just make sure you loctite the nuts when you put them on and you’ll be fine. I hand tighten them down first and then spin the motor over a couple times and make sure the crank doesn’t hit the windage tray and then once you are sure of the clearance back the nuts out and tighten them and torque them down. Then put some tape over the oil pump pick up and some modeling clay and push the oil pan on firmly and then take it off and measure the clay and adjust the pick up if necessary. I personally shoot for 3/8 of an inch of clearance.
@33mins you know it's all going to shit 😂
That’s the best part 😂

Hopefully you didn’t do all that work for a faul plug or bad injector lol
@@Abuildinprocess Right?? 😂 No, the piston rings on 1 & 2 closed and burnt up two pistons.
