  • What is it like to trap an eagle? It's similar to fishing, the eagles are smart, wary and watching everything. They wait for vultures, ravens, or crows to go on bait first. Trapping techniques vary but baited water snares, leg hold traps, rocket nets, and bow nets all work. Also differences between golden and bald eagles.

i see that you release all the eagles in this video, I'm mostly a catch and release fisherman myself. But in a typical season how many do you harvest and what do they taste like?

All depends on weather conditions and if the birds land. I am not sure, but I would guess not very good based on what they eat, thank you for the laugh 😂

So why exactly are you doing this?

It is obviously for research if you watched the entire video.

@jaedonhurles3623 yes, I could have been clearer that one of the things we are looking at is lead exposure in eagles. Which could affect legislation at some point

@@wilbozz so you are going to make life hell for hunters because you find led in eagles? That's where a lot if this stuff leads to... I have seen articles alluding to this. For example they say hunters are bad because we kill an animal leave the guts behind and some animal eats it and now it has elevated led is what they say and then use that to further restrict and put more laws and regulations on hunters.
      Edit: typo

@@paulrun111as a fellow hunter I am sure you are aware the Pittman-Robertson act provides the majority of Environmental funding and is responsible for the increase in so many game species (wood ducks, deer, elk, wild turkeys etc) and it all comes from hunters/fishermen. Most hunters really care about the environment. Know you have an advocate who agrees with science based decisions vs voting on science (ex wolves in Colorado).

What is the point? Why do you feel the need to intervene in nature and distress these beautiful animals?....

What’s the point of properly and safely researching rare animals in their natural environment??

@@jaedonhurles3623 total non-answer bud. Just calling something “science” or “research” or “proper” or “safe” doesn’t make a behavior or standpoint moral, correct, beneficial, ethical, or even acceptable. Give an actual argument for why this is a good, right thing to do to these birds. If you were that bird would you be ok with someone ambushing and trapping you while your were nomming? Think. Use your brain THEN talk or type.

So this is a study paid to look at lead and other pollution exposure, to save the birds. Thank you for the question.

@@DrewishBearabsolutely great point, which is why we have to do extensive proposals before any study, this is looking at lead exposure and other pollutants ultimately for the protection of the eagles.

He does this just cuz he's a coward and weak, but wants the thrill staying safe. If he weren't a coward, he wouldn't be a hunter, he would be looking for thrills somewhere in a MMA, boxing, or would go hunt grizzly with his bare hands;) So that's why he can't explain clearly his purpose: He can't admit it to himself.
