I can't believe I watched this whole thing but honestly I was at the 7 minute mark and next thing I know it's over lol. Great video, very informative, thank you. I'll be gentler with my portafilter going forward.
I’ve needed to swap gaskets for a while now, likely from pushing too hard. Now that I see how easy it is I’m upgrading to a cafelat one ASAP and then will get a decent one whenever I order more from you guys again. Stoked to get rid of that menacing minuscule amount of dripping 💦 lol
Nice, If it has been like that for a while you should notice the difference in taste. Your shots should be cleaner tasting as your grind will now be slightly coarser as the grouphead is not leaking pressure.
Not sure if the minimum pressure is a good idea.. my experience has been the portafilter can pop out mid shot if too lose and makes a mess and can be dangerous if your break glass, spill hot coffee… Did learn though why I had a loose fit as I was used to rubber gasket and not silicone and I was stopping too early and not pushing in again.
Changed my gasket... Initially... I was unable to remove... Dental tool tip was starting to bend. There was a mention that the machine was hot... Heated machine and after this... I was able to remove.
Got about 2 years out of my first gasket and about 2000 shots. With regards the cleaning tool for the gasket; might be worth considering stocking some of the better ones?
It's always a good idea to have one on hand, so you don't find yourself accidentally caffeine free, as you wait for a replacement to arrive in the mail.

I learned that when you need to install a new gasket, to use a portafilter without a basket in it.
Yes that works well to seat it.

Aside from removing drip tray and water tank , do you need to do anything else before flipping the machine? (Eg running transportation mode?)
Nope
