    The simplicity of Insight, the programmability or DSx, or something else altogether! Let me know in the comments below!

      Mimoja does the best job in my opinion. It is the most stable, clean, intuititve and nicest looking skin🙂

      @MihaRekar 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mimoja all the way. Also, the 9:08 thingy you enter is DYE (Describe Your Espresso) by Enrique and has nothing to do with DSx 😉 It works with many skins (including Mimoja) and offers some extra Visualizer integrations like syncing data and downloading profiles.

    I'm a bit late to this but I just got a DE1Pro last week so I'm trying to absorb as much as I can about it's features. I've seen a lot of people on Decent's forum talking about using the DSx skin but had no idea it had so many options.
    Thanks for making it easy to understand!

    Your take on the DSX skin was very "Insightful" 😁 The first time I tried the DSX skin I couldn't quite figure it out and just felt more comfortable with Insight. I'm going to give it another try now, thank you!

    Nice review! DSx is also my skin of choice. I don’t particularly enjoy the UI, but love the workflow features.
    Just a note, the shot metadata screens (beans, grinder, etc.) are not DSx but my “Describe Your Espresso” extension, which works with any of the DSx, Insight or MimojaCafe skins.

    great first video on DSx! much easier to absorb than the really long zoom call Decent has on their page. You missed two really key features though! The upload to visualizer function as one. Secondly, and most important the temperature adjust. It allows you to quickly change the brew temperature delta without affecting the master profile. So if your coffee is too bitter but you know that the profile settings are correct you can drop it a few degrees and it will apply to all the temperature steps. Great when transitioning to light roast

    • @LifestyleLab_

    Do you think the descent would suit me if I only make an espresso each morning and don’t have the time to mess around and tweaking the shots? I’m looking for easy repeatability and consistency. Is there a profile that can “save” a shot automatically by lowering the flow rate or pressure if my grind is slightly off for example? I have used E61:s for 15 years. Currently on a Lelit Bianca.

    Speed and convenience are what I enjoy most about my Decent and with the new inserts replacing all that brass, the speed of warmup is just crazy good.
    Light roasts and experimenting are now in my past and have settled on a nice medium/dark blend for the past couple of years. Been using the Insight skin exclusively as I'm only concerned with flow using the lever profile.
    After viewing this video it looks like it's time to give the Dsx another look as I believe I only had it up for a short time. I'm probably not getting the most out of my machine. My coffee needs these days are easily satisfied but maybe an old dog can learn a new trick.

    Hey, love your videos. Quick question, if you ever had the budget, would you pick something like a LMLM or a slayer instead of the decent ? Or is the decent up to spec when compared to them ?

    • @LifestyleLab_
      @LifestyleLab_  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      For home use, and if espresso quality is your absolute top priority, I see no reason to pick anything other than the Decent. It’s flexibility and espresso quality is simply not matched by anything else out there right now.
      Steaming is more than fast enough at full pressure (I normally throttle mine to around half)
      The only complaint that I think would drive myself POTENTIALLY to something else would be purely based on looks. The slayer is a beautiful piece of machinery. However, I don’t think I’d be willing to give up everything the Decent offer just based on appearance.

    it’s called a skin because that’s what we refer to it as in software engineering. you have the same foundation on the software, it just has some different looks and additional functions. on android phones, it’s the exact same thing, sure they have different software looks and different functions, but they’re still all at the core, built on android.
