People can hate on this board all they want but for me when sized right it's just a dream powder board. On a good powder day this board just excels like few others.
I have the ‘21 orca and have loved it the last few seasons, tempted to get this but wondering if there will be a nominal or noticeable difference/enhanced experience
@@SearchofSnowboarding it was kind of my question. Mega Death or Golden Orca. Love to ride a bit switch, love side hits. My board is a full camber right now, never ride a Lib with C2X style, but looks fun with magna traction...
Just dumb to hate on a board because it’s popular…and embarrassing to be that person who once touted it in the 1st and 2nd gen but now diss on it because that’s what good riders are supposed to do. Ride one. It’s a fun little tree pow board to go with your bigger, stiffer charger board.
@SearchofSnowboarding I have the gen Orca From 18/19. Is there a difference with the latest generation? Im going to Japan in january is an upgrade to latest model worth it?
@SearchofSnowboarding Yup. I'm on a 166w this year. I rode the 162 K2 Excavator and I enjoyed the width, but wanted a bit more length, still. But, I'm 6'4", 215lbs and sz 13. The Orca sounds cool tho.
@wlp6200 I'm same weight, boots size as u, but am 6'1. I ride a 159 regular orca, 156 apex orca, 157 golden and a 161 apex golden. Just so you don't have to really worry about the size on these. They rip
@ that’s the point. There’s so much out there that is way better! I talk from experience as I believed the hyped and bought one and made a buddy of mine buy one too. We were simply curious. One day on them and we sold them the next. We both on Korua boards and K2s and it wasn’t even close !
Idk man I bought one on the cheap I absolutely love it. Would I pay full price? Probably not but if you can buy one second hand or on sale it’s a great pickup

I like it because it's a fun, unique ride

It was the Mega Death or the Golden Orca for me...I went with the Mega Death because I love Capita, but the Orca is still on my list.
Nice, good call. They're both different enough that it would be fun to have both down the road

@@mat19dal84per Tough call, but I'd say Mega Death if you've never ridden C2x just because you wouldn't need to get used to something new
Was always kinda curious on this… appreciate the info
Stoked you found it helpful! Planning on doing more like this
What about the Apex Golden Orca?
They only made that board last year, but it was a sick one too, just the premium build out on the golden shape

How do you compare Golden Orca and Mega death?
Mega Death is going to be more stable with the camber, and it's a hell of a lot lighter

Would a size 12 boot fit on a 153cm orca?
Yes it would
Did lib stop making the apex golden? Also, would you still pick the mega death over the golden?
Yeah I think they only made that last year which is weird. Maybe they thought they had too many similar models?
Is the golden orca also volume shifted that a rider would have to size down 3-6cm?
The Golden is recommend at downsizing 1-3cm
I’m so bummed that they changed the waist width on the 150. That’s been my daily driver for years now.
Yeah it's weird that the 147 is wider
I’d buy the apex if it had a super fast base.
I feel that
I wish they made bigger sizes.
With the Orca in a 162, and being able to downsize 6cm, that would be like riding a 168

@@wlp6200 Demo one at the least, the size would surprise you and it wouldn't feel as short as you'd think

The best Orca is mos def not an Orca for me 😅
The best orca is no orca at all! Don’t believe the hype guys !
I mean.... They're not bad boards, there's just so much more out there that I'd rather ride.

Uh huh, you bought one and got your buddy too as well, eh. The most dominant board in the most respected competition definitely not for you.
orca’s are for goober chads
Orca hate is for even bigger goober chads
