Finally, someone showed how to remove the actual nuts. I didn't know if the hood would stay put after removing the nuts and it does pretty much. I am definitely getting these for my Nissan Pro4X
Did this install two days ago. Very easy. Tip: lay a towel over the engine bay in the areas you work so you won't be losing any nuts or strut retainer clips. Hood is opened up much more, the struts are less intrusive than the rod. In my case the hood did not shift out of place when I removed the bolts from either side of the hood, although i made sure to mark the proper hood location with tape just to make sure. So that made it easier, too. Note, when you're closing the hood, if you have a hood chip deflector installed you'll want to reach over the top of it and push down on the hood itself to overcome the resistance of the struts. My struts were Z-1 Offroad Part # 20040-IM. They open easy, stay open no problem, and close with a satisfying but not overly aggressive thump.
Dude!!! AND the torque values & loc-tite...damn! Def subscribed..thanks for the info; I'm sitting here staring out the window waiting for the Amazon dude with mine... hahaha
I watched your video, so I ordered one for my 2013 Frontier. It was an easy install. They included 2 ea. Z brackets and I have no clue where it goes to .
Oh my God what a great idea I'm getting so tired of that heavy ass Hood I'm trying to teach my wife how to check the oil and she can't even lift the darn Hood up LOL
How does the clearance compare to the height you get when it's on the prop rod? I'm a bit of a taller guy and It doesn't feel like the hood lifts high enough for my preference with OEM rod holding it up on my 2008 pathfinder.

We try our best. Thank you for the feedback.
So much easier than it was for my 2014 Mustang

Excellent! Just installing mine - easy day thanks to you! I need to buy a torque wrench. Thanks, Mcgurr.
That's awesome. You are very welcome
Just got these a couple days ago. No directions provided, of course. Seems fairly straightforward, but your video was a great help. 👍
I glad it helped. Thank you for the support

Based on other reviews, it seems they're for cable/hose management.

I forgot to ask you man do you remember what brand of kit you used
It was an Amazon purchase (I don't remember the brand off the top of my head), but there is a link in the description.
Where did you get the hood prop rod kit ?
Amazon. Link in the description
I have a 2001infiniti qx4 would like to add hood struts is there a conversion kit and if so can I get it Amazon or ebay thanks
Not sure. May need to Google that.
Has anyone tried these on the series 2 r50 pathfinder? They seem to have the same bonnet hinge and bolts attaching the fender to the body.
That's a good question. I'm not sure. Hopefully, someone can shed some light on this.

Sadly, the height is similar to the prop rod. Maybe a little higher, but not by much.
@@mcgurrentertainmentawesome! I definitely am considering it but it was out of the question if the height was lower. I appreciate the reply!
Anytime
Where did you put the little brackets? No instructions included with kit.
They are not needed. It was supposedly for the windshield wiper fluid hoses.
