In my career as a bed-and-breakfast Innkeeper, I had to do some of the cooking sometimes. And from what I learned- I suggest taking a little Sherry (2 parts milk, 1 part Sherry) and put it in your Hawaiian King Rolls custard mix. It will definitely need sweet syrup, so I’m glad you are using powdered sugar and syrup. When I made Sherried French Toast, I’d make a syrup, including brown sugar, butter, maple syrup, pecans, and cream.

I think we had the same Dad!! Mine did the exact same thing, drink it straight out of the glass after adding some pepper to it, and whenever my Mom made cornbread he'd crumble a piece of it into a glass, pour the buttermilk into it, and eat it with a spoon! Thanks for the memory, l lost him in 2008, six months after his 90th birthday.

New recipes 2 days in a row! 😍 What a treat!
I was thinking the rolls would be better cut in half for easier cooking and eating! But a great thing for french toast! I found some cinnamon syrup at Walmart and it's amazing! 😘 It would be so good on this new French toast!
When you made the steak fingers, I immediately thought of chicken fried steak! That's what we call it here in Texas (not country fried steak) and we coat it with buttermilk. We make chicken fried steak just like fried chicken, with a buttermilk coating then flour. Buttermilk does help tenderize the meat and gives it a great flavor! 😋
DQ used to have great steak fingers but they don't make them the same as they used to. They're like prefab steaks now and not that good but the chicken fingers are still very good! And now they're offering ranch to dip them in where they used to have only gravy. But your steak fingers look better than anything DQ has ever had! 😚
I grew up eating chicken fried steak. My mom would take a round steak and beat it before they started offering minute steak.
We figured they called it chicken fried steak because it was an accident. Someone was preparing the steak just like they made the fried chicken so that's why they called it chicken fried steak. I don't know if it's true but it sounded real to us. 😉
My dad loved buttermilk. He would crumble cornbread into a glass and pour buttermilk over it. I love the smell of buttermilk but I don't like the taste. But I love what it does to things that I cook!
I don't think I would care for the salad. I don't particularly like those raw veggies together and I don't eat raw onions at all. As refreshing and crunchy as it is, it's just not my thing. But I know others who would probably love it. And I love how you give us so many great recipes! 😊
So glad you decided to use the chopper! Now Mr B won't get exercise from chopping veggies! But I'm sure you'll find something else he can do in the kitchen to burn some calories! Even if it's when he's cooking at the campsite!
Love how you keep bringing us new recipes! Thanks for sharing another great video! 🥰

Aww next time you make the Rad Dad Summer Salad, make it without the onion first then take your portion out and add the onion to the remaining for Bunkey so that you can enjoy it too! IMO a good french toast has a custard center and my husband likes french toast but he doesn't like it custardy, so I cook his pieces first and while his is cooking mine is soaking up the remaining custard mixture and sometimes it is really hard to transport the slices to the pan because they want to fall apart, haha! I think these rolls might be a really good alternative! Gosh they looked so delicious! Ranch dressing on steak tastes so good! Great recipes, TFS!
