Hey, just a few things I got wrong/want to clarify. First up: I have made a serious lapse in judgement and misunderstood how beloved Captain Ginyu is. I deeply apologize for my transgressions against the Ginyu community (It will happen again and I have learned nothing.) At 1:02, I said that the Legacy of Goku games aren't good. I should clarify, 2 and Buu's Fury are LEAGUES ahead of LoG1. I had a small section in the original script about them that came off as super clunky in my initial recording so I cut it. Shoulda put in a small disclaimer or something. At 3:29, I said that the L button is just for Goku to use Kaioken. This is wrong. It also powers up Frieza (Level 3 only) to his full power and does Kaioken for Krillin (Level 3 only). If there's any other power ups that I left out, leave them under this comment! Anyways, that's all. And thanks for the insane amount of views and comments! This has been amazing to see so many people talking about this game!
Never understood why this game was as overlooked as it is especially when compared to the DBZ Legacy of Goku games. Glad to see more people talking about this gem.
It's honestly a shame that nobody talks about it. There's even a ROM hack that adds in Super Saiyan God and stuff that I wanted to talk about, but never found an area in the video to do so. Thinking about talking about some of the other weird Dragonball games. Stuff like Fusion and Extreme Butoden.
This game was my first ever video game back on Christmas of 2005. The story mode was eerie and terrifying as a kid, the ost really got under my skin especially during the android and buu saga.
Hey I'm glad that you covered this game, it's not often that you see people even remembering it exists. Also it's been a while but for this part 3:28, I remember you can unlock kaioken for Krillin if you beat his story, just something i thought was interesting
I played both games a lot when I was a kid. I’m kinda surprised to find out it’s obscure! I kept one of each in my DS sometimes and switched between the two a lot.
I'm gonna see if I can get my hands on a physical copy and a capture card. Would be a better experience than emulation (and Nintendo won't send the ninjas after me lmao).
@@adeyemirobinson4093 It's such a neat ass game. I plan on making a Supersonic Warriors 2 video at some point, but as it turns out, emulating a DS fighting game is uh... not great for gathering footage lol.
3:36 Played the game multiple times and still have it on my phone. As far I've seen there are 2 other characters who activate that. Krillin does the Kaioken, while Frieza's body starts flashing purple (I assume it's supposed to represent 100% power Frieza).
@@ayarenn1477 I reckon it's because unlike the sequel, the game never mentions you can do that in the first place and only 3 characters have that ability.
I remember getting this game for my gba sp back then. This was the first fighting game I ever played as well as my first dragon ball game and also where I drew even more into the franchise after watching the anime. Overall I enjoyed this one and the what if stories were a great addition to the game.
@@ayarenn1477 Yep I agree. It made it even better when I learned that Arc system studios (the people behind this game) would also later on make fighterz , which gave me nostalgia from this game.

It's so awesome to see so many people showing up and remembering this game. I'll cover the DS version when I finally get my hands on a physical copy and after I complete some of the other videos in the pipeline.
Ah yes...Supersonic Warriors GBA are indeed one of the best fighting game on GBA as well as the only different play style Dragon Ball games on GBA. It even has multiplayer mode to battle with other players as long as your hardware or emulator supports it
I remember getting and enjoying Taiketsu as a kid, having a decent time, and being a bit let down that you couldn’t fly. (Yes I know it’s a terrible game but as a kid I was just happy to smash DBZ characters together on the go) Then my buddy showed up one day with SSW and I was blown away! I saved up my allowance and it was instantly a favourite! Amazing game and it is baffling that people don’t mention it as one of the greats.

There's actually a fair share of decent fighters in the GBA! I'd say the best one is either this game or the port of Street Fighter Alpha 3, which is super impressive given the hardware. There's also some decent KoF and Gundam Seed games, as well as some more unorthodox fighting games like the Sonic and Medabots ones.
Oh, for sure! Alpha 3 on GBA is something I've wanted to talk about for a while, I just suck at it too much to get good gameplay for a video lmao. I mostly refer to stuff like Mortal Kombat Advance, which is uh... it's not great lmao.

this game makes me feel like it was ahead of its time, despite not having a great character roster. I still play it to this day. I tried the second release on the nds but it just doesn't feel the same (in a bad way).

I love the what-if scenarios too. I love how Piccolo thought of reviving the original King Piccolo just to merge with him to be powerful enough to take on Buu but it was still not enough to destroy buu so Piccolo used the evil containment wave and sealed Buu instead. I love how grim the endings of both Frieza and Cell's what-if story as they won in their own stories. I love how Vegeta is the one who turned Super Saiyan at Namek in his own story. I love how Krillin is implied to have better Ki control than Goku and was the one to defeat Buu in the end with a Spirit Bomb.
