  • So what does St Ives mean to you? When I think of St Ives, I think of the pretty cottages, idyllic streets and the fishing boats in the harbour.
We love St Ives! I particularly love the beaches and the colour of the water in the summer sunshine. The smell of the clean sea air on the warm, gentle breeze. The town has lots to offer: history, culture, surfing, and ice cream.
In our compilation video we give you all of this and more. Taken from our 2020 videos, starting with breakfast with a view, enjoy a 'mini-break' as we pass through the streets and around the harbour in varying seasons.
We also take the train on the UK's most scenic branch line to Lelant, a request stop, and return to St Ives along the South West Coast Path via Carbis Bay.

    The standard description bit…
We are Sarah and Andrew and we film our walks around Cornwall and publish on TH-cam, usually weekly. Sometimes we stay in accommodation in Cornwall and upload our vlog. Sarah is fascinated by sea glass and likes to collect it so there may be the occasional sea glass video too. The channel is a hobby and we both have normal day jobs!
    Frequently asked questions:
    What camera do we use?
Since December 2018 we have used: Canon Powershot G7x MkII
How do I find the books you use?
Most are still in print although some we pick up in charity shops and may be available on Amazon secondhand. Please refer to the video for the book titles. Every video shows the book three times. Sorry but we can’t put a link in every description.
Best time of year to visit Cornwall?
We love May, June for flora and fauna, July and September for spectacular scenery.
    What is your dog’s name?
Sorry but we do not release the name of our dog, perhaps you can make up your own name for him.

Well done again Sarah & Andrew for yet another Cornish feast for our eyes. I love St.Ives for everything it has about it. So
scenic and full of character, with beautiful beaches and turquoise water. You can just relax and soak up the relaxing
atmosphere - in spite of the crowds and noisy seagulls. Thankyou both for your hard work in sharing Cornwall with us. 💕

What does St. Ives (and Carbis Bay) mean to us? Maybe as close as you can get to Heaven on Earth? Especially on a warm, sunny summer's day. That's why we would regularly jump on the train and head down there, sometimes staying over. (Does that make me an Emmet? Ha,ha!). That train ride between St. Erth and St. Ives is breathtaking. It's just a shame that so many of the houses and cottages are second homes and holiday lets, but that's the way it is I guess. Thank you for this compilation of vlogs which we found informative, inspiring and entertaining. 'Devon' Tony.

@@CornishWalkingTrails Yes indeed, Sarah. Salcome in South Devon is a virtual ghost town in the winter. The price to pay for living in the two most beautiful counties in the UK, I guess. Tony. ;-)

I thoroughly enjoy these adventures around Cornwall - my bucket-list bulls-eye - I can preview the coolest spots even if I can't get there yet, and your humor & enthusiasm make it like a welcome walk w/old friends. I also appreciate the heads-up re walk difficulty level, for future reference.

I will enjoy this video when I watch it, my wife and myself just love St Ives and that whole area. But when we visit out of season it is so quiet, so many homes not used it almost feels erie, but this applies to many places in Cornwall not just St Ives.

Currently looking at coming to Cornwall later in the year! After 2 attempts in the last few years which have had to be cancelled, it's long overdue! I remembered all these compilation segments! If we do visit St. Ives when we come down to Cornwall, we always use the coast road from St Just. It's just a lovely ride along there via Zennor & gives the real flavour of Cornwall with an added bonus of there being a small place along the way with amazing cream teas! There's also a hidden quirky wildlife sculpture garden called Tanglewood at the start of the drive in that area..well worth a visit if you like areas that are a bit offbeat to visit & to get away from the crowds. Hey ho...let's hope I can get there this year! J x

A lovely video from beautiful St. Ives and its surroundings 😊 And the train ride is one of a kind ❤ It is always a joy to watch your videos, and I don’t think I will ever get tired from these views. Thank you for the facts about Knill’s Monument. We stopped there once on our way from St. Michael’s Mount to St. Ives along St. Michael’s Way. And at Porthminster Beach Café almost at the end of the walk, the beer Knill By Mouth from St. Ives Brewery was the obvious choice 😊

Brilliant compilation Andrew & Sarah! Will definitely take that scenic St Ives to Lelant train ride when next in Cornwall. I had an unexpected find last year ~ a small oil painting on board (1ft x 1ft) of Lelant Station (in a charity shop in Kingston, here in London), signed by 'Geoffrey Thomas'. The fine detail is amazing, capturing low sunlight reflecting on the station walls and tops of trees. He's clearly a gifted artist like yourself, only I've done a search online but can find nothing. x

    St. Ives means to me
Everything. My Shangri-la. As as child we had free train rides from the Midlands down to St. Ives. We stayed in camping coaches right on the harbour. Of course its a car park there now. We lived it there in Sept holiday We had the beach all to our selves. Beautiful. After they re did the train station we stayed at Hayle Towans in those lovely chalets. There was no mod cons but as children we were in paradise. Freedom . Sandunes and Grass over there. Then as we got older and married we went to Hayle and St Ives. Amazing memories. Then when we had children we took them every year. My eldest son has now taken his daughter there. My Father in law moved down to Cornwall with his second wife. They had national trust cottage in Boetherick Green near Saltash. More holidays in lovely Cornwall. His wife's parents lived on St. Michael's month. Till they eventually moved near the Tamar river. Yes Cornwall is very special to us. We will try and visit next year if at all possible. Xx
