Talk about rattlers! It was Halloween day. And I was showing my neighbors new cowboy how to fill the syrup wagon. The valve on the overhead tank is set pretty high, someone stuck a log under it , to stand on. The cows had knocked the log over, I reached down to flip it up right, and ran my knuckles over a live snack hide!!!!! Dam!!! It was so cold he couldn’t move. Boy, now I could!

When I used to saddle my horses they used to fill their lungs up with air and you couldn't get the saddle on tight. You can start riding down a trail and his saddle will get loose. You'd have to stop and tighten it up again. I used to put the saddle on walk the horse around for a while and then re-tighten it before I get on it and ride
Fool Quails ! Good one. I got literally, unceramonally dumped on my head off a horse in two feet of snow on the side of a mountain west of Parachute Colorado ! My horse did not like it when a covey of Chuckers came up from beneath the snow and bounced off his belly. Damn, there must have been thirty of them, it sounded almost like a jake brake going by. Thanks for the video. Can say I was paying attention when you said "bear". Three hours drive west gets us into the Rocky mountains. Out to a place called the Ya Ha Tinda (native). On the edge of a park where a lot of Horse people go out to ride the mountain trails. Have had a lot of problems with our government's tree hugging, over populating handling of the lions, wolves and grizzles. There was a couple folks (back packers), them and their dog, was killed out there a couple, three weeks ago. Ran up against an old sow grizzle with a hate on. The searchers had to put her down with some shotgun slugs. Sad to say on both counts.
Many years ago we were riding in the rocky mountains in Alberta Canada and came across a big cat on the trail and he didn't want to move so we waited for quite a while and he finally got out of the way
