- If you find yourself wanting come to Tiveden National park and photograph the beautiful capercaillie, black grouse, hazel grouse or something entirely different contact David over at.
www.naturguidetiveden.se/en/
I was invited by a company called Natur Guide Tiveden, to come up north to photograph and take inventory of the beautiful capercaillie, my goal was to get to know the area and learn how the birds moved, how many and if there was more activity in the forest around and ofcourse photograph the mythical creature known as the western capercaillie.
I was given an entire lek site for myself and David supplied me with a hide which I had to setup and move by myself which gave me alot of oppertunities to place the hide where I saw fit and where I believed it to the best place to photograph and record the birds.
Had a great couple of days in the woods all by myself and I´m looking forward to what could come next.
Hope you enjoy the video, if you did please feel free to

Awsome Andy looking forward to the next one , these are definitely on my bucket list for sure 📸👍
Thank you so much Andy! In the next one there will be more bird activity so stay tuned! 😃🙏
This seems like a tantalising introduction for another great video coming up, can't wait 🤗👌
had to look up "tantalising" haha!
I hope you´ll enjoy the next one =)
I was a bit behind with your videos! love this one Andy, great to see you out there again and in such a beautiful spot. It must be exciting to set everything up to wait for the big moment! Greetings, Gladys
Thank you so much Gladys! I had a very good time in the woods 😊🙏
Wow very nice images and fantastic video!!
Thank you kindly! 😃🙏🙏
Most enjoyable, Andy. Well done. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much Terry!😀🙏
Great! And a fantastic experience. Certainly. I feel like coming back to Sweden ...
Thank you so much! You definitely should, beautiful country! Where you from? 🙏😊
I am from the West of Germany (Aachen) and I visited Sweden a several times. But the last time i took the camera for capercaillie was in 2004 - with Fufi Provia 400 Slidefilm ;-) . So your video made an impact to my ideas for another trip...
@@berndstrempelphotography not too far then! Would love to travel germany a bit, have only been in Berlin 😅
Glad to inspire! You definitely should, there are information to a company in the description who arranges all kind of wildlife trips mid sweden, kind people and a beautiful area! 😊
Fantastic - looking forward to more :) I would love to see this one day - I absolutely love the sound they make :)
Thank you Geoff! They definitely are a rare breed haha, hard to hear inside the hide especially early in the morning.
There are alot of them in finland so you should be able to witness it when you visit if you time it correct! :)
@@AndyGustavsson Yeah, it's a question of being there at the right time, which we usually are not... There are also capercaillie here in Scotland but they are very rare / in decline still I think, so I would not want to even approach a lek for fear of disturbing them!
@@GeoffCooper totally understandable! It’s the same down in southern sweden where I live
