    [READ THIS ENTIRE COMMENT ASAP]
    📌Sooo... the list of unsafe parental control apps has increased to 46 as of today. To make it easier I created an updated list of all the unsafe apps here: sekuva.mykajabi.com/best-worst-parental-control-apps
    ♦️Also please note that even if an app is not listed in this video, my list, or the research paper, it does NOT mean it’s a safe app!! And note that ANY of the apps listed in the research paper can update their security and be more safe!! The likelihood is slim for some of them (especially the ones that already slipped up a few times), but it doesn’t negate the fact that security is nuanced and even the “safer apps” can have security issues. The difference is they have a trained team of security professionals to fix it quicker and keep up with any other security issues.
    Again as I said in the video, out of an abundance of caution I’m just not recommending the listed parental control apps and will stick to these apps (Norton Family, Microsoft Family Safety, Google Family Link, and Apple Family Sharing).
    Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions 🙌🏾

    Is this still relevant ? I’ve recently been trialling Bark, Qustodio and Norton Family. on first impressions I am leaning towards Bark but they don’t officially support U.K. usage and therefore I have concerns about how they will handle stored data.

    I may be an outlier, but the method you used on Instagram to promote this video was off-putting. I felt like I was being forced to engage just to watch the video. I would have watched the it if you had just linked it, as would everyone else who requested it. But having to ask you personally just to get it was a huge turn off. Just some criticism that may be useful. Great video though

    • @CyberFareedah
      @CyberFareedah  2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Ahh well with Instagram you can’t link a video on a post. There would be no way to click on it and watch it.
      Not sure if you saw that the video is linked in my bio so you were free to go there for the video. So nope, no one is forced to comment to get the video.
      A couple of people (rightly so) didn’t want to click on the video I messaged or linked in my bio so they just went to my TH-cam channel and found it themselves. Everyone is free to do what works for them in my community 🙌🏾

      @frannymak 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@CyberFareedah fair enough. I didn't even bother to check your profile before writing that. I guess I just assumed that if there was an available link, we wouldn't need to request it. Thats my fault. Thanks for your response and I apologize for my assumptions.

      @@CyberFareedah and thinking about it, I'm even critical about it when people say "link in my bio" so I wasn't being objectively fair. Thanks again for such a calm and measured response.

      Agreed, a lot of insta hackers use links in dm's to find out your information so I was iffy about clicking on the link

    • @CyberFareedah
      @CyberFareedah  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@frannymak It's no problem! I deeply understand that everyone's comments and assumptions are never about me so I don't take it personally at all! We're all just trying to live our best lives after all lol. But it's my pleasure always, and thank you for your kind response.

    • @CyberFareedah

      The thing with this research is that an app can have security issues and not be on the list. Also an app on the list can fix their security issues but then we have no way of knowing if they know how to upkeep security.
      This topic is super nuanced so I always say to just use the companies with a better (even if not perfect lol cause nothing is!) track record: Norton Family, Microsoft Family Safety, Google Family Link, and Apple Family Sharing

      It's okay! I used to recommend them but I'm being more careful now with my recommendations. No one is perfect (including the apps I mentioned as "safer"). Qustodio can always uplevel their security and I hope they do so.
