Not going to lie; as a physician I’m test-driving this on Friday. To purchase late July. This Beast is worth the hype. Thank you Ben Hardy for your intuitive automotive reviews. Been watching three years now 😂😂😂😂
This is the best color combination, interior and exterior. It doesn't get more opulent than this. It's starting to get pretty close to Bentley haha ... I love it!
I agree Ben, the ultrawide screen on the dash just looks lazy and not luxurious. When there is an instrument cluster wrapped in leather and infotainment set apart it gives more of a custom look that follows the expectations of luxury. I also feel the powertrain is decent but a little underwhelming.
If by “New Mercedes” you mean grand luxury and low reliability…. your statement is correct! Lol. I had a love/hate relationship with my GV80 Prestige. The hate part won… and we sold it after 1 year!
I remember when Lexus debuted in 1989. Mercedes’ fans scoffed, saying it was a Mercedes knockoff and a dressed up Toyota. Today, Lexus is on par with Mercedes, has the same status, and has greater customer satisfaction.
The higher performance version you're hoping for is coming out in the form of the "Genesis Magma". It's like their own version of AMG, M and RS basically
Weird how no one calls an Audi a VW, even though it’s the same brand. Or a Lexus a Toyota. Or an Infiniti a Honda. Or a BMW a Mini. They’re not the same vehicles, they’re not even engineered the same. Your argument doesn’t work here and it has never worked for any other luxury brands.
Extreme Nice Car. It’s unfortunately that the power train has not been updated. The gas mileage has actually taken a small step backwards because of someone new EPA regulations.
Did you say black in the outside and brown in the interior referring to the wheel? I believe the color is smoky green in the outside. That's how is called. Thanks for uploading and showing the key fob.
i like Genisis , but iam not a fan of the screen it looks like the plucked it right out of the Hyundai/ kia parts bin,,, now its gonna slowly start to look like Hyundia's..they should have left the screen alone and worked on other things
I don't like mercedes benz nowadays a luxury cars suppose to flex high end interior materials like wood, aluminium, leather etc... but they would just slap in cheap glass, lcd screens and black piano plastics🤣
Ben, you're skipping a ton of features/options on this vehicle. Even the BMW X5 does not have rear powered fold/unfold seats that you can control from the lift gate! This vehicle rocks from head to toe!
@@HaiRune Not yet available in the US. It'll come in 2026 on the GV70. In fact, that large screen is the reason I'm pulling the trigger on a 2025. I REALLY don't like the new screen graphics or fonts and, IMO, it completely destroys the flowing design ethos that so attractively and cohesively tied the interior together in the 2022-2025 models.
The steering wheel is a great change. The old steering wheel looked like it belonged in Grandma's Buick. The new screen as your instrument cluster is lousy. Luxury should be gauges that look like watches. Any mainstream brand can have a digital screen.
This title is exactly why the Genesis brand will slowly but surely fail, they lack a strong brand identity, originality, and their products lack Korean heritage. They’re just cheaper built carbon copies of the German offering that the developers based them off of, so unless you’re some huge Hyundai/Kia fanatic you’re not likely to opt for a gussied up RWD Palisade over a Range Rover, GLS, Escalade, Q7 or X7. When the opportunity arrives to reward yourself with a top tier luxury vehicle very few are searching for the nearest Hyundai dealership to live with a GV80 outside of its bumper-to-bumper warranty.
whats the matter, ya afraid of competition from the other side of the planet. Like no one can build cars better then the Germans, that phrase went dormant decades ago.
@@thomaswattle9828 nah kudos to them for entering the segment, just wish it was actually engineered by Koreans and something different. It’s a German car with a cheapened Bentley exterior flare and you’re wondering why it’s not selling the best? Okay, y’all will figure it out soon. Perhaps around the same time that Genesis does. Oh and then there’s reliability. Nice vehicles though!
@@thomaswattle9828 I honestly think that would’ve had a greater effect had they *started* the brand out with their own standalone dealership. That’s not going to make their product better or sell the best in the segment.

Genesis good looking suv love the interior. Genesis did a fantastic job built awesome vehicles

That’s why I’m hesitant on buying one. Heard some issues.

Having seen these in person, the pre-refreshed model looks a lot better both inside and out. It's like they intentionally wanted to soften the design.
is this uyuni white or alta white?

The most powerful Genesis GV80 model could also have a 3.5T 48V E-supercharger engine (available for the Genesis G90 model) as an option!.

16 MPG around the city? Ouch. I couldn’t do 22” wheels. Way too many potholes in Colorado Ben! But beautiful vehicle.
Why so low mpg?
is the key FOB white for every GV80 or is it color matched for every GV80?
Typically you get 1 white key and 1 black key.

i owned 2022 GV80, love it. but i still think they are 7-10K over priced. like top trim around $83k is too much for the class.

It is better than the Mercedes-Benz. MB doesn't have nearly the same features as the GV80.
