Hey guys, in today’s video I’ll be sharing how I became a Chartered Accountant. If there are any specific questions or topics you'd like me to cover, then drop a comment/video suggestion below. See you next week 🤍
Thank you for the video. I will be starting my ACCA Journey soon. I postponed it for 15 years but it is obvious i would have done much better if i had done the ACCA when I first thought of it in 2008.
Hi Abbie, great video I really enjoyed it. It's great to see a black UK person's experience of ACCA on TH-cam as there is hardly any content on the web. Do you mind making a video on how your experience went at the strategic level. Any tips or advice on your last 4 exams.
Thankyou so much! Honestly that's one of the reasons I filmed this as I rarely saw any content from people like me when I needed it. Yeah I was thinking to film another video on how I studied, but specifically for the strategic level. Now I know someone would actually want to watch it, I'll definitely make a video on that soon
Thanks for sharing your journey to ACCA. Quite Motivating. I'm currently contemplating on whether to go in for ACCA or CIMA and that's cuz I am looking for the shorter of the two lol
Congratulations this is so motivating and inspiring.... i am currently doing ACCA and I really need more help and motivation on how i can go about with my ACCA journey because it doesn't seem easy as i thought...
I believe I'm older than you by a lot! But I wish I was as responsible and driven as you were you're age. Excellent video appreciate your humility and advice. I got 3 left to do. May leave questions about career progression soon on other vids of yours.
Thanks for this video. It's motivating. I actually registered with ACCA also because I studied Management and Accounting but the journey has been hectic as I've failed twice and I was out of job a couple of times and it demoralised me. I intend to write this September, God's willing and I want to start preparing from now. So help me God. I hope to write taxation and I pray I get money before then to put in for the exam. Thank you.
Hi thanks so much for coming up and motivating us. I did BBA specialing in Accounting 5 years ago and now i want to do ACCA what papers would you recommend me to do since i did a course related to this. This is Sharon from South Africa
Hey Sharon, I’m from South Africa as well and I’m going to write my first paper in September. I think it would be wise (as they do advise on the ACCA site) to upload your qualifications and see which exemptions you qualify from then take it from there
Thank you for this great video. I would like to know more on the exam structure part. Let's say a person is doing 4 modules per year on the pro level. Does it mean they are going to write 1 exam of any of the 4 modules in every quarter of the year then finish or it's exams every quarter on all modules until the last exams at year end? I hope you understand my question. And also what is the pass mark for professional level(mark needed to pass)? The average and the pass mark of each module.
How did u manage your company to finance for your acca ? Any tips on how/what should i do once I finish my accounting and finance degree . Thanks a ton .
i'm 16 and thanks this video has been the one i'm looking for. could you tell me what you would do if you went back and was 16 again. i'm just looking for early pointers before going down this path
hi Abbie from your name it seem that you're a Ghanaian, that is just by the way, i will really a guide in my ACCA career as that getting into, i did accounting and finance in the university graduate with HND certificate. now i want to start learning ACCA courses while i wait for money to start the main thing can you help me with what to start learning as at now. thank you
this worked once for me, when I booked and passed both Tax (Tuesday) and FM (Friday) , the first time I attempted to book 2 exams I booked Tax (Tuesday) and PM (Wednesday) and failed both. So IMO it's better if there's a day between the exam days to ease the pressure. All the best !
Thank you so much at least I know that it’s not only me feeling or felt that pressure I’m current doing my cat and which country would you think is best to work with an acca qualifications
Hi, I would like to start my ACCA journey but I don't know where to start as I don't have experience in the field and I have a degree in a different field. Do you think it's doable for someone who is starting from scratch?
Hi, yes its definitely doable! Even without a related degree or experience you can still complete the ACCA. You won't get exemptions from exams, so you will have to sit all 13, but the ACCA will teach you from scratch everything you need to know. I'd suggest starting the ACCA/a professional qualification before applying for jobs so employers know you're serious & it'll increase your chances of being hired for a role. I will eventually do a video on this aswell, as I know many chartered accountants who made it without a degree or experience.
It depends on how many exam exemptions you have and how many exams you decide to take per exam sitting. But if you have no exemptions and you're only doing one exam per sitting, it'll take you somewhere between 2 to 3 years to complete all 13 exams
You don't have to. Both ACCA and CIMA allow students with at least a high school leaving certificate to enter and study. But of course now for ACCA you'll have to do all 13 exams and CIMA complete the certificate level first and the 3 year professional qualification
I would advise going on both websites and reading the course structure. Then once you've made up your mind, search which institution provides it. Kaplan if you're in the UK and there are others across the world in different countries that act as a provider.

Hi, I need to start studying ACCA
Are there any unis that provide the acca course directly
Please can I start the ACCA right after shs without going to the university
You interlock and twiddle your fingers a bit, just found it amusing as I always do it 😂
Does your practical work experience have to be in an accounting related role or can it be in a different field entirely?
Would you recommend acowtancy as the main resource for skill level papers? Their paid version?
I really need an online study patner for f5 and f9 papers.... anyone?
HLO ABBIE , I AM IN 12TH STANDARD RIGHT NOW AND I WANT TO PERSUE ACCA , PLZ TELL ME SOME DO'S AND DONT'S .

Hey do you mind saying what uni you went to?
Thanks for your video, may i ask one question of where i can find the ACCA course? Is it any institutions?
Can do it online, self study. But if you check the ACCA website, they indicate their learning partners
Beautiful and smart
Thankyou so much 💕
Is there a way I can get in touch with you please
How much it's cost to study ACCA in uk and after ACCA how to join MBA???
do you get paid during the year in industry in uni?
Ma'am is it a good idea to attempt 2 papers in one sitting
So I tried it but I wouldn't recommend because I wasn't able to pass both exams at the same time. But it could work out differently for you
this worked once for me, when I booked and passed both Tax (Tuesday) and FM (Friday) , the first time I attempted to book 2 exams I booked Tax (Tuesday) and PM (Wednesday) and failed both. So IMO it's better if there's a day between the exam days to ease the pressure. All the best !
