Music is a performance art after all. In comparison to writers or visual artists, musicians should be able to perform their records. And as such, lives should always be better than studio. It’s upsetting that this is seemingly the exception and not the rule.
hmm idk if more, i just love both maybe, but just as always in my case, i usually like more live performaces rather than studio versions, not only with ado abaut music from ado, for example Odo, i love lives version but from other musicians (specially rock and metal) too
Hello from Japan. What a great reaction from musician's point of view. I've seen quite many reaction videos of this Unravel Live version but yours is probably the best one. For someone like me with no knowledge of any sort of instruments nor vocals, it's really fun to hear your thoughts as musician. Thank you so much.
From a vocalist's standpoint on the amateur level this is one of the most electrifying live performances I've ever heard. Also, your analysis is pretty much spot on. Ado's performance is very raw but also very meticulous at the same time. In order to get this song right, you need to scratch with all your might during the "Unraveling the World", and you can see her preserving her voice for that with the "crying" method before that. It definitely conserves energy for the climax. Also, after that I see a bit of fatigue kick in which is obvious. Ado does such a great job at conveying emotions while integrating the right techniques to preserve her voice for the places where the emotional impact matters most. And to believe she was able to accomplish this amount of vocal control at the age of 20 is just astounding.
This commentary video is excellent. You have a high level of knowledge and respect for the original music. And you explain precise points to the many artists involved in this stage that are not presented in many other commentary videos. The commentary is very technical and precise. I’m very happy to have been introduced to this live video by you. I have subscribed to your channel. I look forward to more of your videos in the future.
This song is so amazing, and Ado just did an amazing job throwing emotions and grit into it! i still tear up because you can just FEEEL the emotion. So so goood!
I fucking love Ado's voice, the control she has over her voice her ability to change and play back and forth is incredible, she showed that on this song in an incredible way, going back and forth from scream that would may fit in metal to falsetto/head voice yes, im referring to 15:24
glad you checked out the live! I like it better than the studio recording. The end where she flips back and forth between head and screaming is just so good. She did announce a world tour yesterday and will be coming to four cities in the US.
Great reaction! I really like your explanations for all the different parts and contributions to the performance. Personally, I preferred the live to the studio version for this song. As far as the guitar solo goes, what's wrong with not liking it? I liked that you were honest, and also explained your reasonings behind why you didn't really like it in the studio version, and why you thought the live version was better overall, rather than not commenting on it at all. The reason I watch your reaction is for the commentary after all, and I felt I was able to learn more about what went into the performance of this piece thanks to you.
this version is a lot better than the studio version IMO, Ado's voices shine a lot in this version. If you can check "Freedom" by Band Maid you will love the drummer!!
i binged watch your videos of ado, i just realized you have demi chan wa kataritai poster in the background. that's 100% a sub from me. Thanks for your great reaction and analysis!!
Another think that’s crazy it that I think she preformed this halfway through her set! Not at the end of her show! That just blows my mind that she was still able to sing after this 😮
I don't know about anyone else but the screams and being better than studio version reminds me of Chester and Linkin Park. A masterpiece of a cover and my second fav after Animenz's Unravel Piano version. Also RIP Chester.
He just released a new cover called Aishite Aishite Ashite I loved the video ❤❤I recommend it because it makes a lot of changes to the voice like godish
Thank you for your reaction. I heard that this song was the first of about 20 songs sung live. It's a song that makes my throat hurt, but I have to say that it was amazing to think that I sang about ten songs after that. She did a live performance on TV the other day. She was a great singer then too.
Close it was actually the 7th song out of 23 song set with the live version of show being her 22nd of the night to give you an idea of her vocal endurance and in the middle of the set she did a version of tot Musica that I wish was public
Her vocals are so insane, it's hard to believe that she can do a lot of what she does live. There's a bunch of live vids out from her now, and she also has vids up of her reacting and cringing to her own performances.
what a great song and pefomance I love ado and youre analisis as well. On the other hand ill truly recomend you the made in abyss OST, its one of the best of i hear it and think youre gonna enjoy it to, particullary recomend two songs: "hanezeve caradhina" and "VOH". Kisses.
She has it all-great songs, amazing musicians supporting her, fabulous live shows, a mysterious but captivating persona, cool videos and a voice unlike any I’ve ever heard. Even Sheena Ringo is in awe. Reactors and vocal coaches have been losing their minds for awhile over this song, I’m just happy to see the interest continue and now that her world tour has started hearts and minds will be blown en masse the world over.
Ado :"Mom i wanna sing twinkle twinkle" Ado Mom: "you can sing twinkle sweetie, after you finish 2 hours of opera training, 2 hours of scream, and an hour of rap."
Your reaction is very interesting. 【Hiroyuki Sawano / Project【emU】 “Attack on Titan” suite】 I would like to hear your impressions of the above studio live. ADO Tot Musica Please watch the video of the person who composed this song.
She uses all the parts of her voice, she's really free, do not have a sense of 'Oh i broke the rules, kind a break out of tone, now it will sound bad" she uses voice break/crack out of the original tone as another color of her voice, then do it intentionally. also she's really breathless here while still controlling the tones, I guess she improvise way too many things, yet it feels more sincere, like how she feels at the moment on stage.. I will only be able to take liberties like this with a song is when I'm in the shower.
I forgot the exact order but i think she sang unravel as the 7th song for this concert. The wild thing is that the total number of songs she performed in this concert is 24 if im not mistaken.
I want to know what the hell she did at 4:16-4:17 because that particular scream’s warble or whatever it was was metal as fuck and it never sounds quite like that again
Is it Only me or the song’s is a li’l faster. Sorry a li’l tipsy here 😂 . But i love her voices no matter how many times i heard it. Loves how u keep replayin n explainin the part that i love too. Good Job man ilove it.
How many times do you have to rewind a song? Is it so difficult to finish listening to a song? Why don’t you just learn it? Anakira Japan Wouldn't it be nice to talk about your thoughts after listening to the song?
The problem with all these musician reaction channels is they're too tunnel visioned on technique and technicalities that they miss out on appreciating the artistry, which is the whole point, they don't seem to grasp that there are such things as stylistic choices. But I guess that's why there is a difference between someone who can play an instrument and a true artist.
To be fair, I used to perform in studio and live quite a lot. I do appreciate the artistry, but the point of this video is to analyze the techniques and technicalities of the performance. I usually appreciate the artistry on my own time by playing the song on loop after I finish recording the video. 😁
The good thing is that I did link the original video in the description. So if my analysis isn’t to you liking, you can watch the original video without my commentary 😁
Gotcha. Granted, I'd make the argument that the screaming vocals were an integral part of the tone of the song. It kind of portrays the sorrow, anger, and madness of the lyrics. Plus, it really helps raise the energy of the crowd in a live performance. That's just my opinion though.
agreed you are spot on with your take . my opinion is just that , a not well thought out analysis . my biggest beef is using stunts like hiding your identity with lots of visual distractions . i prefer just the music in a live performance . no lights or other type of visual distraction . a good example would be Jackson Browne . he came out in a funky brown long sleeve shirt ,plugged in , counted two ,three , four and away the concert went . the most visually outrages thing on the stage was when David Linley use to play slide guitar for him , in some non matching insane pants and shirt .a sort of 1960s homeless hippie look. 😂 but wow he could duplicate the studio version live , if he wanted .
I see. I do like more traditional performances. I think it's a bit of a cultural difference, but I really dig it! It's good stage craft! But so is the performance from the artist you mentioned. 👍
How many times do you have to rewind a song? Is it so difficult to finish listening to a song? Why don’t you just learn it? Sorry, but that’s kind of what we do here. The good thing is that I did link the original video in the description. So if my analysis isn’t to you liking, you can watch the original video without my commentary 😁
I loved this version far better than the studio. It feels more desperate, agggressive and overall melancholy that fits it better
That's the beauty of live performance I guess. Something different, not staged, all raw singing. Both is great and has their unique traits.
Music is a performance art after all. In comparison to writers or visual artists, musicians should be able to perform their records. And as such, lives should always be better than studio. It’s upsetting that this is seemingly the exception and not the rule.
@@WhatisaLeeAlthough that's definitely true, I think they just went too safe with the studio version because they could've done it better

abaut music from ado, for example Odo, i love lives version but from other musicians (specially rock and metal) too
The craziest context of this for me is that this was Early in her set, and she does long shows.
😱 Oh wow!!!
It was like 7th out of 24 songs
and it only got crazier from there, her tot musica + usseewa same set was some of best/craziest i've seen from her

The emotions fit perfectly with the lyrics and that's what it stands out for me!! Thanks for the reaction!!
Phenomenal concert live, this was one of her earlier songs into the live hehe, inhuman stamina
Tell me about it! That’s insane!!!

JPOPって独特のメロディなのか、ボイストレーナーのリアクターでも音階踏めてないなと思うことがあるんだけど、この人は口ずさんだ時に音階通りに歌えていると思える1番のリアクターだと思っている
7:20 - it's not just the echo, its also her own voice as she lets it go. Shes just incredibleee!
World tourのスケジュールがアップされましたね♪

Theres a usseewa mars live uploaded unofficially, it was a great performance highly recommend

Can you explain the part where she screams and bend backwards?

It’s hard to tell, but it might be a touch faster. Love performances aren’t always perfectly on tempo. But this isn’t to far off.
