That's not even including the rather boring way the flavors work together. I've got a big list, but regular De La Rosa might be my favorite candy in the world. They are decadent, but not so decadent that they get to be unpleasant.

You can buy these individually at the cash register area of most (if not all) Mexican grocery stores. We've always considered them to be a candy rather than a cookie. Also, these are made from peanuts, although traditional marzipan is made from almonds.

Mazapanes come from France, in France they do something similar but with almonds instead of peanuts and I believe is called marzipan but when it came to Mexico we started to do it with peanuts as they grow easily in Mexico. But mazapan or marzipan is not a cookie.

If you look at 2020 statistics the US and Mexico are in the same category. Peace index in Mexico is 2.6 and the US is 2.40. PLUS...not all of Mexico is insecure. Mexico is not even in the top 10 most dangerous countries. There are very safe states but of course, if you haven't been to Mexico you only know how to generalize.

Try Maria's cookies, its a pretty plain cookie but eat it with any hot beverage (hot tea, coffee, espresso) or even milk/milk alternative, it taste delicious.

Mazapanes come from France, in France they do something similar but with almonds instead of peanuts and I believe is called marzipan but when it came to Mexico we started to do it with peanuts as they grow easily in Mexico. But mazapan or marzipan is not a cookie.
