3:20 Oh yeah, definitely remember that one from the Lego fan club magazine. 1:46 Those antenna pieces were what we used as lightsabers growing up. I *was* one of those huge Star Wars fans and Lego fans. Still remember being blown away when I first saw photos of the original trilogy sets on the cover of the Lego catalog.
The MOCs from Maestro S.Fujita were first made the summer I was born. I loved seeing them on the computer as a kid. Lego Star Wars was a big part of my childhood.
This reminds me of when I made the original Star Wars trilogy in low budget Lego. It was a mix of official sets and sets I had to custom make because I did not have the official sets or minifigures.
i remember as a kid I had very few lego sets and would often have to make my own star wars minifigures and scenes these pre 99 mocks give me that same feeling of trying to capture the impossible with what you have
There’s so many fun and creative part usages in these MOCs, such as… Firefighter helmets for Rebel troopers helmets Forestmen hats for Imperial Officers Vader made from a black knight’s helmet and a Blacktron torso Peasant hoods for the Jawas And Fabuland animal figures for various aliens. This guy was very talented and I hope he’s doing well now.
Great video. Some of the MOCs from back then looked really good. I especially like 3PO and R2-D2 at 3:08. But somehow it also makes me feel a little nostalgic and sad.
This brought me back to when I was younger and growing up in the 90’s seeing those recreations of the Star Wars trilogy in Lego way before Lego Star Wars was is what inspired to make my own mocs, continuing my adoration of the Lego brand. I’m still a big fan of both to this very day. 😃
my imagination had to do a lot of the heavy lifting back in the day when trying to build MOCs from the OT and games like dark forces 2: jedi knight. the best thing was to finally get actual stormtroopers so i didnt have to use race car drivers, lol (like at 4:34)
You're the first person to comment saying I pronounced it right. The amount of comments I've received on other videos about pronouncing AT-AT wrong is incredible.

while i will say the content of the video is original at a glance, you pretty blatantly plagiarized the title and thumbnail of BrickFleet’s video on the same topic from 2 years ago. yes, you passingly acknowledge it and show the thumbnail at the end of the video, but it’s pretty common youtube etiquette to direct people to the videos that inspired them to make their own take on a topic.
What a creative topic, and these are easily the oldest MOCs I've ever seen! As odd as it sounds, I never really thought of people making MOCs back then - of course they did, but I only ever hear of vintage themes and sets. It's both endearing and annoying how low quality the images are (for some reason the crease on the one at 3:15 made me smile). It's all impressive though, and some genuinely look great still.
Yeah, it's never really something you think of because there is no documented evidence of it. I'd love to know if there were some other crazy Star Wars MOCs that existed at conventions or something
Have you ever seen these LEGO Star Wars MOCs before?
YES this brings me back to a long, long time ago, I remember these mocs being displayed on an old moc website, don't know what it was called though.
Now I haven't seen these mocs in a long, long time.
@acertainredpanda1115 The website I got them from is linked in the description, maybe it's the same one?

Lego Star Wars was a big part of my childhood.
That's an awesome core memory!
Very cool,
Love the use of white astronauts as stand ins for stormtroopers at 4:36
The creativity with the limited number of pieces is insane
That's a cursed jabba
I think you mean sexy 🥵
😂😂
Yeah, we used to have to do this in the 80s. Used to make all kinds of stuff. From Star Wars to Star Trek to The Last Starfighter.
It's really impressive what everyone was able to do back then with the limited number of pieces
I remember watching a pre 1999 lego star wars stopmotion movie on TH-cam probably 18 or so years ago.
TH-cam wasn't around in 1999.
@@glowinggames1561 he saw a video that was made In 1999 but got re released

I feel like that same magic has kind of been lost over the years, unfortunately.

The creativity back then is amazing. It kinda has this magic to it
I've loved LEGO Star Wars for years now and I have never heard of or thought of this topic. It certainly brings much curiosity, appreciate this video.
Glad you enjoyed it!

That's awesome! That's a real magic of LEGO
I remember my dad showing me a photo of him building a small Lego at at in 1980 right after the movies came out when at my grandparents

Beautiful!
All credit to the Moc Builders ❤️

Con la poca variedad de piezas y lo primitivo del sistema lego en esa época es increíble ver esas construcciones, realmente eran ideas creativas
