Thank you for the tutorial! I've tried to make 2 of these now with the covered elastic and the fabric seems to be too short to go over an adult head. The amount of elastic is fine but the amount of fabric makes the elastic only stretch so far and it's not enough to get over the head. If I just sew elastic alone to it, it's fine.
If I use a 12 inch length of fabric to cover the elastic that seems to be plenty of give to be able to stretch the headband over the head. Might be able to go smaller but would have to test it out.
@@Mellysews I used the largest size for the pattern. I'm speaking about the amount of fabric that's indicated to cover the elastic-not the headband itself (if someone is making that version). It's not enough fabric to let the elastic stretch over an adult head. It's fine if I don't use fabric to cover the elastic. When I used the amount of fabric you indicated in the tutorial to cover the elastic-it doesn't let the elastic stretch enough-thus my comment earlier about using 12'' instead. I made two headbands with 12 inch covers and it was fine.
Hi there, I’m sorry you’re having trouble! Please see this post to narrow down the issue and find out what to do about it. There is also a video of the pattern download process there. The video shows exactly where to find the pattern gallery link, the password, and where to enter the password. mellysews.com/free-pattern-troubleshooting
I would love to make this but I really don’t want to play around trying to figure out how to download it. I don’t mind giving you an email but please make it easy for me. I spent way to long trying to figure it out
All my patterns are accessible to newsletter subscribers in one place, there are instructions in the post and in every newsletter I send out. I'm not sure how to make that any easier.
I was looking for a tutorial, and yours was at the top of the list, and I got really excited. Because I know you're awesome.
Awesome! Thank you!
Thank you ☺️ These are on my Christmas gift giving list ❤
Wonderful!
Gorgeous!! Your videos always make me happy. Thank you for sharing:)
I'm so glad!

You might need to size up.

What size elastic is needed for the smaller size headbands?
More details about types/ widths of elastic in the blog post linked in the description.
I don’t see the self leveling foot link. Thanks
You're right, I forgot it! It's here mellysews.com/how-to-use-a-self-leveling-presser-foot/
I couldn't find a free pattern on your website. :(

I’m from Australia. Can I print the pattern on A4 paper?? Tried the pattern and it doesn’t fit me.
It should print on either US Letter or A4 size paper. You can adjust size by adding more or less elastic.
