Is there a reason to tint the roof on the model Y? Doesn’t it come with uv protection and heat reduction? I know the passenger and back windows are just privacy glass with little protection so that makes sense to tint those widows. I’m getting all my windows tinted but the roof just want to understand if it’s necessary.
great question. although tesla claims that the full panoramic roof does come with infared reduction glass... our clients are still getting alot of heat in from that glass. they notice a great amount of heat being reduced once its tinted with a ceramic clear film.
@@HighEndDetail you should do a video showing how much heat comes through the roof before and after tint is installed. I have not seen a video yet about this.
I do not like the 70% on the two front windows, it looks like there is no tint. I understand the heat part of it but cars look a million times better with tint

I agree with you. I saw a video today that used the solar meter reader on a non tinted Model Y roof and the reading was at 4.

Is all XPEL tint (even 70%) have that blue shade/tone?
They were installing XR BLUE. There is also XR BLACK which is a true black. This is their ceramic line.
We carry CS, XR Black, XR plus.
So you don’t have to take all the head liner off to get it to not show

Due to the cost, i only added 1/2 xr on the sunroof. just over me. 70% film. should i worry about cracking?

You should be fine since you tinted it with a light 70% tint.
Usually the problems occur when it’s tinted 20% or below
