    Might add, if you pre mark eccentric bolt, you won't be SO far out of alignment than by not pre marking. Thanks!

      Good point! I am spoiled and do most of my work on an alignment rack so it doesn’t really cross my mind. Definitely a good idea.

    Great video! Quick easy and to the point, feel much more confident putting in new quick struts now. Thank you!

    Great video. Getting ready to do this on my 2014 after a shop quoted me over $1,000 for what seems like such a quick replacement.

      In my shop this job would probably run $300-$400 depending on parts prices/corrosion on the suspension hardware. I would try to find a different mechanic :) Hope your replacement went easy!

    I’ve been putting up with clunking sounds for a while now when going over bumps and whatever and was wondering how difficult it would be to replace these. Thanks for the video, looks like an easy fix.
    I had the bushings replaced several months ago so that’s not the problem.

    Great video thanks. Say do I need new front struts mounts when doing this job? My current ones the rubber looks old and cracked.

    Thanks for the video, takes the worry out of trying it myself! One thing, I watched a Monroe installation video and they recommend not tightening the upper strut mounts down tight until the vehicle is lowered off the jack so it puts even force on the strut mounts and threads, what is your experience with that?

    • @FreddysCarsaAndChaos
      @FreddysCarsaAndChaos  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can definitely do it that way but at least snug them before you lower it so that everything is lining up properly before putting the weight on it, and then you can finish torquing them down.

    Straight forward video - tell me those were not TRQ struts.?? I have used those on other cars before and they made the vehicle like a monster truck after installed. Which ones did you use? I have a 2011 Outback.

      Thanks for the comment! I’m not sure what they were because the customer supplied them himself just in an unmarked box. And I can’t remember for my life if they had branding on them.

    Do you happen to know the torque specs

    I've heard that sometimes the axle can pop out of the trans when the hub drops down. Did you take any precautions to prevent that from happening?

    • @FreddysCarsaAndChaos
      @FreddysCarsaAndChaos  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just basically be careful. I’ve never had it pop out really. And even if it does you just shove it back in and it’ll clip in. Usually if anything the inner joints get mis aligned and they can be a pain to get back in alignment. But like I said just be gentle and you should be fine

  • @kiethpederson7558
    @kiethpederson7558 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'd like to do this but not sure if this is the issue that's causing the sound that I have every day I get like a thud sound every time I go over little bumps I'm thinking it could be the strut bushing or the control arm bushing

    • @FreddysCarsaAndChaos
      @FreddysCarsaAndChaos  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Jack up the car and shake he wheel side to side. If you hear the clunk it is more than likely the control arm bushing. If not, set the car back down and rock it back and forth and have a friend listen at the strut tops in the engine bay for any noises. Good luck!

      Make sure inside the car that the steering column is unlocked by having the key turned to the first position. You can also rotate the strut assembly by hand to make it line up better. Good luck!
