This song is so relatable, and Eric Church is awesome. When I was a kid I used to travel during the summers to work with my mom. I couldn't wait to see Daniel when I came home. His aunt and mine were best friends, and I'd tag along doing sewing patterns all kinds of boring stuff just to see Daniel, who lived next door to his Aunt Shelley. He'd find a reasons to go over there, too, even though we were too shy to speak to each other. We started dating in high school and I always thought we'd end up together, but he died of cancer at 25. It sometimes feels as if I'm still waiting to go home to him.

He was only 17 when he was killed instantly in a terrible accident that was a tragedy that 2001 class will never forget. He was the passenger and his best friend was the driver. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think of him and his family. We all loved him and he kept us all laughing. Gone way way to soon. Only the good die young. That is so very true. As I learn the Eric Church back catalogue, backwards it seems, some songs I should have known about for a long time suddenly appear out of nowhere. I heard this for the first time a few days ago and fell in love with it straightaway. All his songs are just so good, you know when you hear his name you won`t be disappointed. This is what I love about Eric`s music, he writes so many different styles of song, but they always have a message in them that I can relate to, whether it be songs like this or Drowning Man to Drink in My Hand or Two Pink Lines.

As I learn the Eric Church back catalogue, backwards it seems, some songs I should have known about for a long time suddenly appear out of nowhere. I heard this for the first time a few days ago and fell in love with it straightaway. All his songs are just so good, you know when you hear his name you won`t be disappointed. This is what I love about Eric`s music, he writes so many different styles of song, but they always have a message in them that I can relate to, whether it be songs like this or Drowning Man to Drink in My Hand or Two Pink Lines.
